this is going farther than 10 years back, but the Ole Miss upset of the Hogs just before they entered the sec caused a program collapse. That was the game the Arky back took the snap and was trying to sweep left to the goal line as time expired to tie the score, but a couple Rebels got him down first. I remember the Arky players looked stunned -- they'd been 10-2 the year before and Ole Miss was supposed to be an easy win that year. The team never recovered from the loss (finished 3-8,) and it was several years before Arky was any good again.

Might have missed it in the thread, but Boise's win over Oklahoma was a program changer. Before that, Boise was never talked about, just a small time program with a good season like Tulane's run in 97 or 98.
Rightly or wrongly, they gained instant credibility.

I always thought the LSU and TN game during Sabans time was a key game for them and seemed to get them.believing they could compete with the big sec team's and the Clemson game in 2008 was huge for Bama.

Alabama vs Florida 2009 SECCG. Urban processed, Florida went from Dynasty to rebuild mode. Granted, they've rebounded nicely, but with a new staff and modus operandi.

No question. Texas was a national power.
In fact, Alabama changed several programs...
Clemson in 08 - preseaon ACC fave and darkhorse BCSNC contender. Fired coach midseason.
Florida and Texas in 09/10.
Michigan State, IMO, in the Cap One Bowl.
Maybe Notre Dame...remains to be seen.

2010 vs. Jacksonville State.
The beginning of the end of Houston Nutt.

Maybe Notre Dame
I think the Notre Dame gut-punch Bammer delivered this January was the worst of them all.

I really disagree because Notre Dame largely over achieved while Texas more of lived up to their potential.

Notre Dame is and was a better program than Texas. I don't know what you are talking about...

Ole Miss beating State last year was a big game that changed recruiting for us. This year we will see the game that changes our program.

I don't think so, but I've always been curious had Carlos Dunlap not gotten a fricking DUI early that week and FLA had actually showed up in the 2009 SECCG vs ALA.

There had been warning signs that whole season that UF was not going to beat Alabama. When Harvin left, so did a lot of their big "holy shite" plays on offense. That was still a great team, but Alabama was just better that year. Florida showed up, but Bama did too.

LSU vs UGA in 03 was the game that really marked LSU taking a step up into the elite category of CFB IMHO. We haven't fallen beneath that since

Agreed. Even though UF was undefeated going into the game, they were not close to being as dominate as 08.
