I'm actually happy for TCU even though they're a former SWC rival. I mean atleast it's not Baylor instead.
Fun fact: TCU's last natty was in 1938. When they beat UGA it will be A&M's turn to win its first natty since 1939.
It is simply inevitable at this point.

No envy or hatred of TCU here. I’m kinda rooting for TCU as an underdog in this game. I think your coach got lucky with some good players, but if it becomes evident that he really is a championship caliber coach, we’ll just hire him away like we did in baseball.

Fun fact: I will respect, admit wrong, and never troll aTm on the SECr ever again if you win it this coming year.
Deal?

Damn I wish I could be as smart as the top 10 percent of Sharpstown HS. Plenty of those geniuses getting interdisciplinary studies degrees from A&M
Lot of truth in this. The Top 10% rule has unduly penalized lots of highly qualified kids in favor of other young folks that had much lower bars to clear in poorer, much smaller, and much less academically rigorous environments.

Yep. Top 10% rule makes college admissions absurdly easy for kids in crappy high schools, and insanely difficult for kids in quality high schools.
I actually know of folks who have moved from quality school districts to mediocre one's before their kids graduate, so their kid's academic record, which was outside top 10% at the good school, can be inside top 10% at the crappy school. And voila. Auto admission to A&M or Texas, student's choice.
Absurdity all around.

Not sure about these days, but 20 years ago it all evened out by the end of freshman year.
The kids from crappy schools that skated their way in mostly failed out or withdrew by middle of spring semester, and the smart, well prepared, kids from competitive high schools that challenged themselves with difficult coursework, got a B or two, and ended up outside the top 10% of their graduating class, would transfer in to fill all those vacated spots.
It's just an extra round of shuffling kids in and out to get right back where everything should have been from day 1 if A&M had the leeway to actually decide which kids they want to take based on merit.

Nonsense. A&M is conveniently located near Houston. It’s got plenty of daddy’s money kids. Tech is much more common folk.
West Texas is the best Texas.

Let's slow the roll here.
Fort Stockton, Pecos, Orla, Midland, Odessa, etc?
Better than Houston?

No thanks. Only so many to breakfast tacos a man can take.

I've made great money in those places I mentioned.
People and no deserts.

Houston is great for:
Restaurants
Culture
Diversity
But if you prefer the wide open desert instead, then stick to west Texas

Exactly. Why would you stay in The Woodlands when there is the RV park available in Orla?
