now we find your real issue (as if it weren't transparent enough already).

1. I thought it was a felony to have a gun in the presence of weed, regardless of whether or not the gun was stolen?
2. Who are these "sources" that say the two were at a range, shooting? That's easy to prove or disprove. Every range I've been to requires you fill out a form (unless you're a member) and leave your ID in their possession while you are shooting. they would have those records.
I would like to leave pre-conceived notions aside, but my gut tells me that two college football players, arrested in a closed park in the early morning hours, with drugs, and a stolen gun, weren't out exercising their 2nd amendment rights earlier in the day.

In lawless Louisiana what exactly should the punishment be, criminally speaking?
RS 14:95
E. "If the offender uses, possesses, or has under his immediate control any firearm, or other instrumentality customarily used or intended for probable use as a dangerous weapon, while committing or attempting to commit a crime of violence or while in the possession of or during the sale or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, the offender shall be fined not more than ten thousand dollars and imprisoned at hard labor for not less than five nor more than ten years without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. Upon a second or subsequent conviction, the offender shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than twenty years nor more than thirty years without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence."

Just throwing out someone's name doesn't make what you're saying true
Jordan Jefferson sat for 7 games over what ended up being simple assault, against a woman beater no less. Our DA actually goes for the highest charge he can get, meanwhile Tony Brown has to try fighting a cop before even getting a misdemeanor charge. Sit teh fuk down chub.

That's what the school did to punish him. The context of my response was about the legal system offering special treatment and how the poster I responded to was "sick of athletes getting it". Jefferson could have EASILY gotten worse treatment by the legal system and the fact that he was one of two guys battling for QB didn't hurt him when his case was viewed, I'm sure.
As for the 7 game suspension, the fact that he was BATTLING for the job and had not WON the job was likely a factor in his suspension.

This is the LSU version of "he wanted money to pay his mom's light bill". Whatever you've got to tell yourself fellas. The fact (I'll take your word for it) that the guy was a "woman beater" had zero to do with why Jefferson assaulted him.

LSU’s handling of this and other situation is by no means an example to follow, so criticism is valid.
Still Bama at this point not even suspending the players makes LSU and others look strict in comparison. MSU is getting on the act also.

Lol did you not read anything I typed?
Jordan Jefferson faced first degree felony assault charges for almost 6 months, for an incident multiple witnesses testified was no where near what the DA alleged when charging him. Even after everyone there gave statements saying the guy he hit was drunk as hell, looking for a fight, and had already assaulted his ex gf inside the bar, the DA refused to drop or reduce the charges. It went to a damn grand jury, when just about anyone else would have had it dropped to a misdemeanor inside a week. The baton rouge DA goes tough on football players, that's not even up for debate, but by all means keep talking out of your arse.

Except that Jordan Jefferson was suspended from the team the day after his arrest, and was not re-instated until the charge was reduced to a misdemeanor. Has Cam been suspended?

Well played Bama. Well played indeed.
However, if they were at a range, then there will be receipts proving this. But.... oh wait.... I bet it wasn't a range. They misspoke. They were shooting on private property.

You're reaching for reasons to be OK with Saban not suspending Cam.

Cam Robinson is a dumb frick wannabe-gangster who shouldn't step foot on a college football field ever again.

I agree Bama's handling of this fiasco is by far worst... but even LSU's handling of things wasn't the most pristine it can be argued.

You have to be 21 to buy a pistol. He is not and was not 21 now or at the time of the purchase. Illegal sale. Put him in jail.

I don't own a gun and don't really know shite about it, but if this is true I agree.

To purchase from a dealer, not private sale

But according to posts yesterday, they said that they didn't know the gun was stolen...so everything should be o.k. now.
