Auburn might as well have written a check.
Look here, I can take allegations that we MAY have paid someone but we are not dumb enough to write a check and leave a paper trail
I hope

I would hope not too, but shite does happen

meant having a money handler is no different in the eyes of the NCAA than writing the check......I know Aubie didn't write it. They aren'tthat stupid. This stuff is a science based on a sleezy honor code. Bond broke it.

WTF would you do? I guarantee my comments would at least have some underlying anger in them.
And John Bond and Kenny Rogers would have already heard from my lawyers. If this is untrue, then it's slander.
The fact that the NCAA has requested Cecil's, and his church's banking statements, should ring a bell for AU fans.

I agree with you. IF it happened, it would have been by an Auburn booster or thru some other arrangement that isn't directly tied to Auburn. That's why I think that no paper trail will be proven one way or the other. But, if it is proven, and it was somebody indirectly tied to Auburn, that's why the NCAA has the rule violation for lack of institutional control.

The smoke is the many, many credible reports that Newton was all MSU during the recruiting process.

I posted the same info the article says about a month ago.

I look at his father's quote about them checking into his account months ago. Auburn knew this was going on and remained silent.
First rule of public perception is to beat the story to the street unless you are guilty.
They have had a while to get some story prepped. It will be interesting to see how-if they respond to the allegations.
To me, silence is guilt.

Breaking news
John Bond and Dan Mullen wanted this issue dropped when they found out, but when Urban Meyer caught wind he approached Bond and coaxed him into giving the details to the NCAA

The Auburn compliance department has known about the NCAA looking into Cam's recruitment since July. Do you really think they would allow him to play if Auburn had anything to worry about? Come on now! Get a grip and quit hating!-AUSPORTSTALK from Auburneagle.com

Word to that.
College football programs in Alabama and Louisiana politicians have one thing in common: it's damn rare that they get caught because they're so damn good at covering their tracks.
Time to go down to my safety deposit box inside my freezer and deposit some more money in Hefty bags.

as soon as the financial forensics and/or interviews reveal an influx of cash, shite will begin rolling down hill.

Without reading all 23 pages of hoopla; after reading the ESPN article; there may be two infractions involved here. Kenneth Rogers of Elite Football Productions is a sports agent. Even if the $200,000 wasn't paid to Cecil Newton, what about the probability of the NCAA saying he was in contact with a sports agent. Isn't that equally a violation?
I remember a few North Carolina players this year who were deemed ineligible under this rule.

I heard that LSU might be involved in something like this with players.
But instead of giving players money, Miles offered them noogies
