So I guess the NCAA is checking the Newton family records has nothing to do with Miss St turning it in into the SEC. It is just a random spotcheck.

go read your first comment I posted to. You said Auburn fans are mad at Bammer when it was MSU that turned them in.

You still with me genius?

Than I said MSU didn't turn Auburn in they let the NCAA know about Rogers...You get caught up yet?...LOL

This isn’t Reggie Bush going rogue and taking some coin from a marketing company. This isn’t Marcell Dareus getting jiggy with it at a party thrown by an agent. This isn’t A.J. Green selling a jersey. This isn’t North Carolina players sticking around for an extra year, but making it worth their while by getting involved with agents. If this is true, this is someone paying a player to come play football at Auburn University. This is as bad as it gets. This hits the core of collegiate athletics, and the NCAA isn't going to take it easy in any way.

Lulz. You think a booster is gonna throw down $200k w/o proof of purchase? Idk you. Same time man. Same time

What I am saying is if this guy thought Newton was going there anyway he could act like he steered him there and when Newton signed he would look like he fulfilled his end of the deal.

How is it Auburn's fault that a MSU alum made a donation to Cecil's church? Dumbass. The worst that could happen is this season gets vacated. Nice try, now frick off.

I question the validity of the story right now. Finebaum just said that the SEC office was notified during Newton's recruitment. If the SEC office had known this was going on, surely they would have investigated it then.

Wrong.

Auburn has history.

And if Auburn or anyone remotely connected to Auburn is proven to have paid Cam Newton or his family one plug nickel, then the NCAA will bring down the banhammer.

Not SMU banhammer mind you, but they will be looking to make an example out of Auburn to send a strong signal to the entire SEC.

So don't think a vacated season is the WORST that can happen. It could get a lot worse.

Vacating wins usually involves probation of some kind as well. I don't know if this is all true or not, nobody does, but IF something solid does come out that puts auburn in a bad spot with the NCAA, don't expect them to go by the book. It's the NCAA, they don't always do things the right way

I've spoken to two very trusted sources on the situation, and both said the following are facts:

* Florida coach Urban Myer, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen and former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond had a telephone conversation recently to discuss the allegations.

* Meyer had an interest in this story getting out and encouraged Bond to do so.

* Mullen told the two he thought they should move on, let it go, regardless of what was being alleged. Meyer said no, that it needed to get out to the media.

* Kenny Rogers, who is alleged to have sought money, is a desperate individual that was trying to get Cam Newton to go to Mississippi State. Rogers has a checkered past that includes an ongoing investigation by the NFL.

I'll have a story up soon with more information.

How much did that Top 5 recruiting class cost if Cam gets more than 200 grand?

This is what College football news article says:

"According to published reports, MSU blew the whistle on Newton and put it in the NCAA's hands. So now what does Auburn do?"

Please TELL ME what I misread?

Signed the smart guy that maybe can read just a bit.

The only way any of this shite gets proven is if the heat gets to be too much for somebody in the know, and they squeal, that is IF it did happen.

Huh, John Saunders just said this had nothing to do with Cam's recruitment to Auburn.
