A hire like this tells me les has decided he can't fix the offense on his own this time. I think you will see a game plan similar to what you see now, but more precise with much more usage of our TE's. lets face it. Until now every LSU TE the last few years was nothing but another OT. I just hope our run game is still the key to the ignition while the passing game is the gas.

WTF No it wasn't. People didn't know what to think of Stud. Completely unproven. People were mad we promoted Stud. Of course we were happy Crowton left, but no one was jumping for joy over Stud. We were for Krag, but he got Parkinsons and took less responsibility.
Ah shite, got Stud and Krag mixed up.
You're correct, but I wasn't making that up.

No, because he isn't a great developer of QBs and his offense is extremely vanilla.
Also not in response to you but those that said he got Drew Brees in the Pro Bowl, as an LSU and possible Saints fan I hope you understand that the only person that got Drew Brees in the Pro Bowl was Drew Brees.
Drew Brees on Cam Cameron:
You mentioned in your book that Cam Cameron was one of the few guys in the organization that believe in you all along. What did he mean to your career?
“He was huge. Cam was huge in my career. I was with him for four years. He was the offensive coordinator while I was in San Diego for those last four years. That was a time in my career where during that stretch I got benched three or four times, they ended up drafting Philip Rivers. Cam was pretty much the one who broke the news to me. My postseason exit meeting with him after the ’03 season I went in his office, shut the door and (he said) I’m just telling you they’re either going to go out and get a free agent veteran quarterback to come in here or they’re going to draft a rookie high to compete with you. Just get ready for that. I feel like he was always very honest with me. He always did things to try to get the best out of me. There was a time or two where we would butt heads, but I think that was all part of the process of him trying to mold me into the type of quarterback he knew I could be, the type of person he knew I could be, leader and I appreciate him for that. I love the man. I think he’s a great coach and obviously I had a lot of great years with him.”

didn't Cameron get a lot of heat for neglecting Ray Rice in Baltimore?
it was pretty simple, if Ray Rice got a bunch of carries, the Ravens would win.
there were times when he was a total non factor. Not because teams were shutting him down but because the Ravens had just abandoned the run.
I guess since LSU likes to run, they might not have this problem.

average hire
Don't really see any draw backs considering the position we were previously in
see a couple of positives in that he has a pretty decent track record with qb development and Stud can focus strictly on O-line coaching now

I think I mentioned earlier in this thread, I've definitely read that quote before. This is my point with that quote. So Drew is from Texas and everybody passed him over including Texas, but Jim Chaney at Purdue found him. There he worked his arse off and became one of the best quarterbacks in the nation.
Got drafted to the Chargers and Cam Cameron was his coach from '02-'05. He wasn't really good in '02 and '03 (not knocking Cameron here it was just early career). Then after Rivers was drafted, Cameron laid the portion of that quote on him in '03. Drew responded with a Pro Bowl season and another pretty good season in '05 before he was traded to the Saints to begin his HOF campaign.
My point in here is this, Cam's best addition to Brees' career was putting him in the fight or flight position. I'm not saying Cameron didn't play a pivotal role in developing Brees from a leadership standpoint, but Brees' competitiveness and chip on his shoulder has brought him to where he is today. There have been people in my life that have given me the biggest motivations and influenced my life in a very strong manner, but that doesn't mean they taught me a damn thing about what my profession is. They taught me about something else.
This is what I was getting at with this quote, as fans when you think "QB Developer" you think of fundamentals, mechanics, throwing motion, release, etc.. It takes a certain situation with a certain persion in a certain mindset to affect somebody similar to the quote you provided. If I'm going to judge a QB developer based on the criteria that the average fan judges that is what I will base it on. I've already given Cam props for Ferotte in '96, that was fricking amazing. All that being said I really hope my point is clear without the collective Tiger fanbase screaming RABBLE RABBEL RABBLE HE DOESNT THINK HES THE BEST HIRE EVER RABBLE RABBLE. I get enough of that shite from my own fanbase.

David Lee got Romo to a Pro Bowl, according to Romo.

He also help Phillip Rivers who isn't on the same level as Brees but still a good QB. I think hw had a pretty good QB. Check out this page and read what he has done for QBs he has coached. LINK

You can spin it any way you want but if you disagree that Cam Cameron >>>>>>>> Greg Studrawa then you're fricking high.

Well, this thread has taught me two things:
1: If you disagree with someone on the SECr, you're either a sunshine pumping homer or a retarded troll who is scared.
2: That my thinking all these years that "fear" is something which triggers my fight-or-flight instinct has been woefully incorrect. Fear is... well, I'm still not really sure, but it has something to do with disagreeing with someone on the Internet, apparently.
19 pages later, I still know JACK shite about LSU's new OC though.
Welcome to the SEC Rant.

I may be high but I'm not disagreeing with that. The fact is we have no idea how Cam, Bret, or Gus will do. But I guess we'll find out in around 7 months.

Thread indicative of just how bad this board is.
Simple fact of the matter is that Cam Cameron is an upgrade for LSU on the offensive side of the ball. How much of an upgrade, it remains to be see. I love the hire, I love the fact that he has a history with Miles and a track record for wanting to have some control because I think Miles needs a little resistance on that side of the ball, and it's an improvement for us on a team that return almost everyone on the offensive side.
I'm happy with the hire. I don't think other teams are "scared," as that word is far too loosely thrown around on this board, but to have 19 pages of negativity towards him is equally as ridiculous. Anyone with a rational thought knows that this is an upgrade and a good hire. That doesn't mean we'll win the SEC next year (because our defense loses everyone), but we'll be improved offensively.

Why is Cam all of a sudden alongside newly hired head coaches for a comparison? We have a head coach. We've had many offensive coordinators. We continue to do fairly well despite our offensive shortcomings recently. This is undoubtedly an upgrade. Why he's being compared to two unproven head coaches is beyond me.
