In listening to the Bama fans in the media the last few days I have been amazed at the level assuredness going into the game. Yesterday on the F-bomb show (I know consider the source) caller after caller repeatedly bragged about not just a victory, but a "decisive" victory. One lady even went as far as to wager her house (well when pressed it was actually her mother's house) that Bama would beat the Tigers by 14 points because Coach Saban WILL NOT let what happened on Nov 5 happen again. They are seriously treating this game with an air of nonchalance that we would treat a Western Kentucky type.
Look I'm as big of tiger fan as it gets, but I at least have the common sense to acknowledge(and I think 99% or more of our fan base agrees)that we will be lining up against a damn fine set of of 18-22yr olds that happen to be extremely comparable to ours, and if certain things happen we could feeisbly come out on the short end. Don't get me wrong, i will be devastated but I know the possibility exsists. This seems beyond the realm of all possibility in the Bama talk I am hearing, and I'm wondering in all seriousness if this is the prevailing school of thought among Bama fans? Also what is the potential fall out if somehow inconcievably Bama gives another away?

But seriously, any fan thinks their team will win and I have reasons to think that Bama will win but I also have reasons to believe LSU will win.

We will just have to wait till Jan. 9th and see.

Don't ask for rational fans after listening to Finebaum.

From what I've seen on this board, LSU fans are the most assured of victory.

Many fans on both sides feel that way.

Nice story. Just curious, have you read the sticky prediction thread at the top of the page?

Fans are fans and Alabama does not corner the market on fans that believe in their chosen team. The better questions is:

Why any rational person would not realize that listening to a talk show in your opponents largest city might lead to the shows/hosts home team receiving biased coverage. YOU ARE LISTENING TO A TALK SHOW IN A TOWN AUBURN FANS CALL BAMAHAM!

Because you don't make it on the air with "Aww gee, I don't know. I think we have a shot, but they DID beat us at home. Hmmmm. Nope. Just don't know who's gonna win!"

Nah...F-bomb was being rational as he could asking many of them how they could feel that way after what happened the first time. Don't listen to his show often and guess I thought he took some credible callers that lived in reality. I mean we have some dumb arse fans but I can tell you that they are not calling up our shows assuring victory by 3 tds..

Rational fans are not the ones calling in. The minute you think Finebaum is anything but a pot stirring jackass...you've been had!

True. Of course, they have more reason to be assured than Bama fans.
