This thread is officially nominated for most insecure thread of the year.

Responding to a common narrative on the board is insecure?
Was it the hard numbers about the number and quality of transfers that signals insecurity to you?
I think you're projecting here. As a Mizzou fan, you could only see yourself starting a thread like this as a troll or attempt to cover up your own insecurity.
I'm genuinely excited for the future of the program

Arkansas will be stacked with talent and will have good to great teams as long as he's there
Probably won't win a title or anything but you couldn't really ask for much more

So there is something wrong with having kids from your state play for your team now?

That can be said about the majority of programs who recruit well. There are very talented teams in the dance every year but only 1 survives.
But going from having zero players on a roster to having a competitive roster is pretty damn big for anyone. Plus the attention it will bring to the program is priceless. Look at the recruiting muss was able to do after his first year of making an elite 8. Plus his nba ties. Cal has plenty of those.
I’ve said before I’ve never cared for cal, but under the circumstances he will benefit the program and that outweighs my personal feelings.
I also dunned him when he was at Kentucky to Kentucky fans because I think they should be the bell cow of the conference and I stand by that. I wish they would have brought Pitino back, hell of a coach.

Get your good ole boy coach to coach up the homegrown talent.
Kentucky is the new Arkansas

Cal will do well at Arkansas.
Pope will do well at Kentucky.
It will be interesting to watch how each team grows throughout the season and beyond.

Arkansas basketball was irrelevant for a quarter of a century before Muss arrived and it woke some people up. Eddie Sutton did the same back in 1978.
As long as Cal doesn't revert Arkansas back to the dark days of Stan Heath, John Pelphrey and Mike Anderson then most hog fans would be fine with Cal.

Win a title?
I just want Arkansas to get back to the Final Four and end this ridiculous drought.
It wasn't long ago that Arkansas couldn't get to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament for decades until Muss arrived.

Maybe he did underperform his last few years at Kentucky but even other HOF coaches had some lean years in between some good years. And those fans complained as well.
You can't ignore his overall body of work at Kentucky and say he underperformed.

At least Cal made the NCAA tournament consistently unlike Muss who had a top 15 squad this year and quit coaching during the season.

That is nothing compared to the last years of Nolan Richardson, Stan Heath, John Pelphrey and the Mike Anderson years.

If this is the threshold you could have gotten a much cheaper (and younger) coach who might someday win something.
