They need to head back to Louisiana because Southwest Louisiana is getting the brunt of the rain today. Pretty soon it's going to be underwater too.

The bulk of water and food being handed out were by volunteers both locally and out of state.

that seems to be the internet perception, but I know the Southern Baptist disaster teams were providing 15000+ hot meals a day.

All the credit in the world to those folks for going out of their way to help out during this disaster. I know the local Baptist church where I live sent down supplies and their disaster relief team before Harvey even made land fall.

A lot of people in the South will drop everything and help when the chips are down.

In typical Fed. govt/FEMA B.S. when the floods hit B.R. this group was just a bunch of local volunteers whose numbers grew & grew & grew. Providing days of seriously needed help as FEMA, as usual, was overwhelmed...not prepared. FEMA tried to get the Cajun Navy disbanded for not following proper FEMA mandated rules & regs when it comes to rescue efforts. Cajuns being Cajuns, just ignored the Feds & kept on helping.

Some dipshit local Louisiana politician had the bright idea of attempting to regulate the Cajun Navy after last year's flood in Baton Rouge.

It didn't work out.

ETA: scratch that, maybe it was FEMA
