It was the worst defense that LSU has ever put on the field. Think about how bad Pelini had to be to accomplish that with the amount of talent LSU had.

Sure, the QB was coming off a two week quarantine and they played in a monsoon

Imagine a true freshman who never started a game coming in with an offensive staff that was mostly fired at the end of the year and throwing for more yards and touchdowns in the same conditions vs

56 Texas A&M

Than a 4 year senior starter and his offensive genius head coach could manage vs

127 LSU

Yikes

Doesn't bode well for Aggies' chances of winning a title in this pass happy age

Thank goodness you didn’t rank national championships in your lifetime.

I'm expecting LSU's pass defense this season to fly up the rankings to near the top.

I mean, Derek Stingley and Elias Ricks are not only two preseason All-American cornerbacks but they were also both top-rated former five star players coming out of high school. Not to mention that both of them are expected to be first rounders when they enter the draft.

I expect LSU's defensive line, which is the de facto best defensive line since Ed O has been at LSU to really be able to get to the passer this season as well. I can't wait to watch Ali Gaye and BJ Ojulari rushing off the edges and then Jaquelin Roy and Maason Smith rushing from the interior to put pressure on the passers. I think all those guys will have a ton of of success putting pressure on LSU's opponent's QBs.

Then will linebacker Mike Jones, Jr is one of the best if not the best pass defending linebackers in the country.

Finally, new DC Daronte Jones is a defensive backfield specialist and from everything I've heard he is an excellent teacher and an outstanding coach.

I think more accurate numbers are yards per attempt or pass plays.

As another LSU poster noted, it was the all time Crap Defense in LSU History. To borrow from the Movie Patton (1970), teams went through LSU's D like Crap through a goose .

It's back to DBU in 2021. In fact, I hope we can beat Bama in Tuscaloosa because I think LSU will match up very well with UGA if we get to meet again in the Georgia Dome. As I think that LSU will not only be able to exploit UGA's weak secondary with their passing game, but with UGA's left tackle position being one of the weakest in the SEC, I think LSU can rush the passer enough to make JT Daniels ineffective.

Except for Texas A&M of course.

The only team to score less on LSU was Vanderbilt.

Man the SEC was historically bad last year.

54 Kentucky
56 Texas A&M
70 Alabama
79 Auburn
84 Missouri
88 Georgia
97 South Carolina
100 Florida
102 Arkansas
105 Mississippi State
106 Tennessee
119 Vanderbilt
125 Mississippi
127 LSU
Well, yeah, the SEC doesn’t play defense anymore.

You would have thought the defending national champs with an obnoxious fan base that spent months bragging about making another run could have run for more than 35 yards. And about 179 yards total offense all night until garbage time.
“The had a great plan on defense, we couldn’t match the plan. We should have had a better plan on offense. We couldn’t run the bill. We couldn’t protect. Both QB’s were running for their life all day.” Ed Obregon

Well you certainly showed your stupidity. But the stat that matters most...Jimbo is 2 and 1 in the W column.

I think days of any college calling themselves DBU is over. LSU will always have great DBs but give me lanky corners who will come up and hit... make good tackles. Every team in the SEC West will throw for aleast 280 a game this year.

And Coach O is 3-2 in the W column.

Also brought a national championship to LSU.

In defense of dbu, they did face the sec single game passing record holder/one game wonder to start the season

Would be quite a step up for the Aggie passing game IMO.

Only a 20 point loss!

Not quite. The A&M offense only scored 13 points and is only 6 more points than LSU's offense scored and had 267 yards of total yards in that game, which was exactly what LSU had as well.

Which why it is so obvious that had LSU played Max Johnson, as opposed to TJ Finley, LSU would have won that damn game very easily.

As obviously, A&M in 2020 wasn't nearly as good as their press clippings.
