Yes it is if they are no longer players. Any college can pay any athlete whatever they want once they are no longer athletes for the university.

As much as I would love to see another Louisiana sports team pull out their pitchforks over conspiracy theories and fairness objections, this won’t amount to much.
The NCAA cracks down the hardest on things that are 1) egregiously public 2) indicative of a lack of institutional control and 3) involve large and often unknown sums of money.
This may hit 1, but not 2 or 3. Nobody could’ve known OBJ would treat LSU players like strippers and the NCAA could literally count the small sums of money given to each player.
This has warning or very minuscule fine/suspension written on it.

And it wasn’t a current player. It was a former player’s parents. What he did was despicable in every way, but that isn’t an NCAA violation.

The NCAA will declare Joe Burrow ineligible for next season and look into the matter for the other athletes. LSU will not be penalized for doing their due diligence of an internal investigation.

Do you think OBJ handing out $, after the NCG. Is the reason LSU had the season they did? OBJ needs to be disciplined, just for the shear stupidity of it. But it gave us no advantage.
