You are the bald guy, right?

Serious question, with all the animals on earth you could have made a mascot, why a damn pig? I mean if I named my team after a pig , I’d at least use it for humor.
Like say, call your arena the “Pig Pen.” Or maybe yell “OINK OINK” after every basket made.
You could call your football field “Jurassic Pork.” Oh the possibilities.

Razorbacks are more aggressive than a bulldog

I heard Corliss didn’t come because he hates hearing the hog call.

Coming from a fan of the school that brings cowbells to their games, the irony is thick

We were the cardinals but around 1910 we thought something generic like "wildcats", "bulldogs" or "tigers" would be a little boring and high schoolish

Jurassic Pork is funny. I'll give ya credit there

We completed a perfect season in 1909 back when we were the cardinals capping the season with a 16-0 victory over LSU. Our coach commented that the team played like a band of wild razorback hogs. The student body loved it and voted the name change the next year.

But cowbells just have a nice “ring” to them. Besides, you’ve got a weapon in your hand should someome toss their beer on you. You can’t threaten someone yelling Piggg Soooiiiee if they throw beer on you.

This here may be the problem. We drink beer here in Fayetteville young lad. We don't use it to start fights or imitate our little brother

Pretty cool pic actually.

That is a cool pic. Even though Arkansas fans really seem to hate LSU and love to troll LSU, I still think they have one of the best fanbases for the big 3 around.

Interesting 1909 parallel:
“The official nickname for the University of Kentucky's athletics teams is "Wildcats." The nickname became synonymous with UK shortly after a 6-2 football victory over Illinois on Oct. 9, 1909, on the road.
Commandant Carbusier, then head of the military department at old State University, told a group of students in a chapel service following the game that the Kentucky football team had "fought like Wildcats."
Later the name Wildcats became more and more popular among UK followers as well as with members of the media. As a result, the nickname was adopted by the University.“

I'd call it the birth of basketball schools, but we stopped trying that a while ago
