I think he was just implying how stressful it is. You feel like you have to perform well every season or you get cut.

Maybe so, but these guys make multi millions. Hard to have much sympathy for that woe is me stuff.

Bruce was 65 years old when he stepped down. Retirement age for many working people. He put in 10 years at Auburn. Coaching at that level is highly stressful.
Nick Saban says that's quitter talk.

Loyalty was something when the coaches made a decent, but not extravagant living. A contract in the 2-5 million range should bring with it some expectations.
UNC did lose a great player, but Duke lost 2. Texas Tech lost a player of the year in B12. Bama had a key guy arrested.
They all made it through round one.
I guess Pope at KY has a year to figure out how to get to sweet 16 or he will be gone as well.
If you want loyalty, get a dog.

Win or lose, they make a ton of money.
And if they absolutely suck and get fired, they get more free money to simply go away.
Then, they can go cry on TV for an easy check.
Cry more, Bruce. Go to Israel and wail on the wall for poor Hubert.

Saying this after quitting on your team and forcing your school into a spot where they have to promote your son is hilarious.

He might be a clown but last time I checked he never has played a kid that was an accessory to murder.

I hope Auburn's basketball program dissolves into a puddle of piss-flavored vomit and its fans are forced to gather it up into cups and drink it. If they somehow managed to lose more games than they actually played it wouldn't be enough.

With the absurd coaching contracts and obscene amount of money schools/donors are putting up for putting together rosters, especially at blue bloods; you have to deliver results
Well said.
The dichotomy of coaches demanding loyalty from their programs and their players, and then watching those same coaches walk out the door for greener pastures a week later.
They all wanted to be paid as if they were responsible for the revenue generated (players included). In real business, if your job is tied to the performance of the corporation, you're terminated if you don't meet expectations commensurate with the benefits provided.
I absolutely hate it as much as the next guy that we let it get this far, but at these levels we need to enforce performance benchmarks for coaches and athletes and stop giving them these golden parachutes just for signing.

It makes sense and my suspicion.. resign and we will keep your face in Auburn a legend.
