Here are some snippets from an article that The Advocate published about an hour ago online...
quote:

LSU coach Ed Orgeron said Tuesday morning that he does not remember speaking to Gloria Scott

quote:

LSU released a statement Friday that said Orgeron "never had any direct communications with the complainant" and that Orgeron "has and will continue to follow university protocols regarding reporting."

Orgeron told 104.5 ESPN's "Off the Bench" on Tuesday that when he watched Scott's testimony, it was the first time he'd heard of "all the horrible details" of her encounter with Guice and that he is "sickened by what she went through."

quote:

State lawmakers who heard Scott's testimony were furious about her allegations and demanded that Orgeron testify at a subsequent hearing.

quote:

"As I told them," Orgeron said, "I truthfully do not remember speaking with Ms. Scott three years ago. But I do know Ms. Scott deserves to be heard and admired for her courage. I have been, and I will continue to be committed to a culture of integrity and compliance."

quote:

According to an incident report from the school’s Student Advocacy and Accountability office cited by Husch Blackwell, the unnamed coach told the woman “that Derrius was probably just kidding around and that Derrius came from a broken home,” before “dismissing” her.

Scott’s granddaughter told USA Today she was present during the call and could hear Orgeron’s “deep, Cajun ‘frog voice.’”

quote:

After reporting the incident to the university, Scott said Orgeron called her, with Guice apparently in the room, to try to gain forgiveness. She said Orgeron told her Guice was a "troubled child," and that he was "just kidding." Orgeron asked her to "please forgive him," she said. Scott said Orgeron tried to put Guice on to apologize, but she refused to speak with him.

quote:

“We will speak to Ms. Scott and speak to Coach O and we’ll get you an answer,” the attorney, Winston Decuir, said. “If he lied, we’ll deal with Coach O.”

Eta: This is from another thread on Tiger Rant and supposedly from a reporter that works for The Advocate...
quote:

Lawmakers have demanded Ed Orgeron testify after Gloria Scott said Friday that Orgeron rejected her request to punish Derrius Guice after he allegedly sexually harassed her.

Orgeron told @OTB_ESPN "I truthfully do not remember speaking with Scott."

AKA so retarded can barely speak English. Is it any surprise he can't remember the conversation? I almost believe him here due to his absolute stupidity.

What's the difference between Baylor and LSU?

Age limits.

Not saying he did or didn’t but there is no way in hell he can’t remember if he talked to her or not

The Baylor coaching staff contacted the alleged victims and tried to intimidate them into not pursuing action.

I posted this on the Rant and got nothing but down votes, but it is the truth given the current situation.
quote:

I think Coach O could be in some serious trouble regardless. There is no way as the head coach he wasn't aware of Guice's previous sexual assault/rape allegations. Then it's being established that at the very least Coach O was briefed about this sexual harassment incident with the security guard and chose not to punish him.

When you put that together it establishes a pattern of sexual assault/rape by Guice, Coach O's knowledge of that pattern, and a decision by him to not do anything about it. From the outside looking in, it would appear that he was complicit and sweeping it under the rug.

All of this only looks worse now with Guice's release from the Redskins due to assault and strangulation charges.

I think it's plausible that administrators purposely withheld information from him for deniability reasons even if it seems unlikely.

That could indeed be a possibility, although it would be a scary one. If that is indeed the case, then LSU has some serious administrative issues.

And that would be the compliance department, which the NCAA hits you with the old "lack of institutional control".

It's been interesting to watch LSU nuke greek life over any sexual harassment/hazing claim while ignoring rape allegations coming from the athletic department.

It's like the NCAA's version of watching Duke commit basketball violations, but then hammering some tiny school nobody has ever heard of.
