Auburn fans don’t know about the NBA beyond their milk dud looking idol Sir Charles.
Give me one Duke player that was better than Charles.

Well, I can give several who actually won NBA championships

There's no comparison when you evaluate level of competition. Johni Broom would average 30ppg in the ACC.

If the NPOY award is for a single head to head game, give it to Flagg. Otherwise Johni has had the same impact against far better competition.

Just not at Cameron
If he was playing against the likes of Cal, Miami, and whatever other shite mid-majors you have in that league he would.

But Flagg will win it, because he's so fun to watch, because he's at Duke, because he's younger and came with so much more hype.
Yeah I not mad about it, but none of the things listed should impact the vote. It should be what was done on the court. Not who will be the better pro. Not how old or young one is. What happened while they played games. And their resumes are so similar the next point should be strength of the competition and that clearly goes to Broome and Auburn.
In the end, individual awards are a popularity contest and I would trade all the individual awards fir the biggest award: A title.

I respect your opposition and opinion, but Cooper is 4 years younger and exponentially more versatile and athletic than Broome.
Respectfully, if you believe they are even close athletically, then perhaps you're "dumb".
And none of that should hold any weight when looking at what happened on the floor. They aren't handing out the "National Versatility and Atheleticism" award. Or the "Best Player Under 20" award.

Agree with everything you said. Flagg will probably win it but Broome has had as good or better of a year against a much more difficult schedule. In the end Auburn has a very legit shot to win the national title and that’s much more important

I agree with all of that.
The reality is AU fans understand that hype machine kids who live up to billing are going to get their share, even over arguably more deserving people. A white, personable, relatable kid on Duke is just set up perfectly. I mean, if I'm a neutral, I'm more interested in Flagg. He's going to be the one with more longevity in basketball, most likely.
BUT I don't think that stuff should factor in for NPOY. It shouldn't be "this guy is going to be a much bigger star going forward." That said, it's unrealistic to think media won't factor it in, so here we are, and it's fine.

Choking in the moment at his age is a bad look. Broome gonna Broome.

Flagg is not a candyass that fakes injuries.
