Mr Flash. No one here has said they have evidence nor to my knowledge are any of the schools we root for involved in said allegations.
This is a media driven story. Go root through Joe Schad's trash cans or something.
Maroon Flash may be the most butt hurt Aggie on this entire board about the whole JFF/Autographbroker....
The tears are Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.. Keep them coming..

I don't really get why everyone condemns Johnny but then blows off these other possibilities.
They haven't proven he took money yet, so what makes all these other guys with all these autographed memorabilia out there any better then JFF? Is it that big of a stretch to think they may of took money to? And if they did, they are no better then JFF if he is proven guilty. Period.

I mean shite, the NCAA stated they had received like 20,000 letters/calls/ tips from bama fans over the Cam stuff,
I doubt very seriously that 20,000 people called the NCAA and started off the conversation, "Hello, Mr. Emmert. I'm a Bama fan..."

Only matters what they can prove.
Fortunately for A&M (so far) the broker is refusing to cooperate with the NCAA on any investigation.

At one point [in the video], ESPN heard a broker ask Manziel if he would take additional cash to sign with special inscriptions, but Manziel declined, indicating he had done that before and it led to questions.

The sentence above surely got the NCAA's attention. Please point me to where someone claims to have video of Clowney making statements like Manziel is alleged to have made in the broker's video.
I'm sure lots of athletes get paid for memorabilia while in school and still eligible. I'm not blind to that. Only one in the news is the one stupid enough to say something with a camera rolling and whose family has apparently made the memorabilia folks pissed off by trademarking "Johnny Football" and triggering eBay to institute a 2 week ban.

It was mostly letters, but at one point, when asked why the investigation was taking so long, someone from the NCAA (probably Julie) noted they had received over 20,000 tips, leads, items of interest or whatever from the state of Alabama that they had to follow up on.
Was a good example of just how pitiful the bama fanbase really is as a whole IMO.

Just being hypocrits.
Julio, Ingram, Trent Richardson and others were in pretty much the same boat and it was very likely they were paid to autograph stuff as well. Bama fans should be the last to throw stones here.
Good luck with that though. They should have been the last to throw stones at AU for supposedely paying a player as well, but

THE JOHNNY MANZIEL INVESTIGATION IS ABSOLUTELY A CASE OF SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT. THIS ISN'T GOING AWAY.
Although Jadeveon Clowney had just as many autographed items for sale on ebay. The NCAA is investigating Manziel.
The signing of items for brokers could be inferred by the maximum number of consecutive authentications. Jadeveon Clowney maximum consecutive authentications - 98. Manziel max is 50.
Timeline - NCAA investigation has gone on for months. Why was Clowney and Teddy Bridgewater who signed a great deal of memorabilia seemingly ignored?
The Schad interview with a "broker" was last Tuesday. The NCAA picked their target long before that time.
Broker motives - The memorabilia brokers took a big hit earlier this year when the Manziel family trademarked the term "Johnny Football". Without notice they were shutdown on ebay for several weeks. So they have an axe to grind.
This isn't going away anytime soon as long as selective enforcement of rules is being followed.

I agree with you. This could be a pandora's box, but I expect there is no desire to go there and the "investigation" will be relatively focused with a bit of a dog and pony show of little substance as to a serious investigation on a broader level.
I'm not all that worked up about it, but you see it all the time. For example, MLB is after A-rod and has little interest on casting a broad net to catch PED users. They just do a lil dog and pony show, go after selective individuals and call it a day.

Have you seen your own fanbase in action? There is literally a thread EVERY SINGLE DAY on ITAT about "blatant, plain as day Bammer cheating" from Auburn fans. I've never seen ANY fanbase stalk rival players and their families the way Auburn fans do with Alabama players. What other website have you ever seen pictures of college age football players who are minding their own business being ambushed by some lame loser with a camera phone at the gas station or in a restaurant or in a mall. They've been willing to go as far as break federal laws and get indicted (Auburn fans in North Alabama with Operation Red Dog), risk being disbarred (Thrower), etc to try to pin anything they could on Alabama players. Alabama fans were right there with countless other rival SEC fans in giving Auburn fans a hard time and being indignant over Cam Newton. Even then they didn't have fans stalking Auburn players trying to ruin their careers and lives.
P.S. It's interesting you mention the Ramsey case. You know the one where Auburn coaches were simply doing their Christian duty of feeding a starving family with steaks and nothing else. Is that still the company line on the Plains regarding the Ramsey case?

I don't think our Aggie friends get it. The NCAA can do whatever the NCAA wants to do and there's nothing you can do about it.
Rule of law and many times their own rules don't mean squat.
If they think Johnny did it,he will pay. And you can scream til you turn Texas Burnt Orange and it'll not do you any good.

Speaking of Manziel, I hope he tells the NCAA to piss off. Sick and tired of the NCAA making everyone walk on egg shells over every little thing anyone does. Also sick and tired of them being able to do literally anything they want to a school or player with no repercussions.

What is the motivation behind this broker going public with this information? Does this make the stuff Johnny signed for him more valuable?
Posted on 8/7/13 at 5:27 pm to Rbama13
The brokers have a big axe to grind.
Their business on ebay was completely shut down for 2 weeks earlier this year without warning due to the Manziel's trademarking the name "Johnny Football".

Is it even possible to be a more whiny little bitch than you are? Don't you ever even hope to meet a woman one day and have functioning male parts?
Good Lord.
