Cam was vilified and that was wrong. He has been a good example as he matured. I hope he continues to kick arse in the NFL.

Mr Flash. No one here has said they have evidence nor to my knowledge are any of the schools we root for involved in said allegations.

This is a media driven story. Go root through Joe Schad's trash cans or something.

And AU boosters paid Gene Jelks to spill the beans that got the ball rolling on Bama's first ever probation in the 90s.

Yes, you are correct. John Thrower. RIP.

BTW, it was also viewed as payback as many AU fans believed bama fans were funding Ramsey and paying his attorney a bama booster and alumnus.

It is a cycle at times. Jelks was payback for Ramsey. The T-townmenswear was a direct result of the Cam BS bama fans went after. I mean shite, the NCAA stated they had received like 20,000 letters/calls/ tips from bama fans over the Cam stuff, someone from AU fired back and brought Albetar to light.

Vicious circle at times.

I think college football players should be free to sale their autographs for reasonable amounts.

I agree and I don't think it should be limited to a reasonable amount. Bottom line is many of these guys are famous and why should the NCAA be able to tell them they can't write their name on something and sell it to a willing buyer. There needs to be rules on signing contracts with brokers, but if JM wants to sign 300 hundred pictures of himself and then sell them for $100 each that should be none of the NCAA's business. Its not giving anybody a competitive advantage. The NCAA and A&M have made a lot of money off JM's fame, so why shouldn't he be able to go out on his own and cash in.

It would never work and would cause a million more problems than it would solve though.

Oh, and it would DEFINITELY give some schools a HUGE competitive advantage.

Jelks himself said Corky Frost and Co paid him. I think the Ramsey situation was all homegrown.

Longest consecutive streak of authentication (indicating they were submitted to the authenticator in bulk): JOHNNY MANZIEL - 50 JADEVEON CLOWNEY - 98

You - and the Aggie fans looking to find someone else guilty so it doesn't make Manziel look bad - get back to us when there are multiple brokers in multiple states with thousands of items from Clowney and Bama players. Also, get back to us when they have any of those other players on tape talking about it or when any of those brokers admit that they paid any of the other players.

Good to know Auburn is never in the wrong but always defending themselves. Great people and fans have been associated with that program for 100 years and its a shame the crap they put up with. Good to know they fire back when needed and defend themselves.

So they both broke the rules? Is that the implication here?

Oh, I know AU people were behind Jelks. And it was John Thrower who turned bama in after he got his hands on a cancelled check that was Jelks signing bonus to come to bama that he used to buy a car.

No one knows who gave Thrower the check though.

And Ramsey was encouraged and definitely bankrolled by someone, though it was initially due to his wife encouraging him to make the tapes in the first place.

So you mean a guy that's trying to make money on college football collectibles sells stuff from the best team in the country? Crazy talk.

I think some people are misunderstanding this "sequential numbers" thing. These sports memorabilia companies buy, trade, and steal things that are autographed, then "authenticate" them and re-sell. There's always autographed stuff out there for sale. When it becomes suspicious, is if there's 2,000 signed items with sequential numbers for sale, especially if those items are the same thing (jersey, photos, etc.) It's not unusual to have a couple hundred, because the companies get batches of stuff and authenticate it. It's unusual when they have thousands. It's also unusual when the company says they paid the player to sign them.

Or, I suppose when Manziel is the only one that gets sat by the NCAA over this, you could claim that the NCAA just hate Manziel. Whichever explanation you prefer.

I don't think that is how it will play out. I think it's a Pandora's Box that they don't want to open just yet. Didn't I just read the NCAA just took down the search function for memorabilia?

Might have to blow over because the Ed O'Bannon case is staring them in the face.

But who knows...
