Complete bull shite. Texas never tried to leave for the SEC. There was some AD level talk about a possible move in the 80s, but the decision makers in Austin (president and regents) always had their eyes on the west coast. The only time the legislature got involved was in the 90s when both A&M and Texas were leaving the SWC (a move engineered by Deloss Dodds, for what it's worth)--that's when we got forced to take Tech and Baylor along for the ride.

Funny how the whorns talk trash when we have consistently been the better team EVERY season since 2012, aka when they threw a hissy fit and vowed to never play us again even with an offer from us to continue. They spit on the offer, we said screw you, and moved on. They blew their opportunity, and beating a team by 7 that LSU beat by 20 in the same state isn't grounds to restart it. The little whorns have been bad for a decade-how many 6 or 7 loss seasons have they had in the past decade? They don't get to make demands anymore.

Might want to check your history. The formation of the B12 came when UT was going to join the PAC, and A&M was looking at the SEC. The other schools in the state got wind of their plans, and legislature in Texas forced them to look at an alternative solution
UT has wanted the academic prestige of the PAC for more than the better part of two decades

I mean that win percentage is worse than us vs Arky and is way worse than us vs Texas.
In fact us vs LSU is now officially our most even rivalry game.

I mean we blow out some historical rivals (like Baylor), but yes the LSU one is one of our closest to being even.
The actual closest would be Texas Tech if that was still an active rivalry.

From 1986-89, Schiller was the commissioner of the SEC

"The state legislature (in Texas) somehow got wind of it through Texas A&M and said we had to bring in both schools or we couldn't take Texas," Schiller said. The SEC didn't want A&M. Ultimately, the two Texas schools would leave the Southwest Conference and join the Big 12.

Are you such a crappy tshirt fan you don't even know the fight song or are you just a complete idiot? There is no in between.
Texas Fight is also based around the Aggie Yell "Farmer's Fight".
Your hand signal was a response to ours.
Your mascot is named because we branded 13-0 on your cow.
Your Hex Rally was a pathetic response to Bonfire.
We even had "Longhorn" as our Yearbook first and you guys decided to change from "Varsity" to copy us (thus the line "Varsity's horns are sawed off".
At least A&M is original in its traditions, Texas is so pathetic that the few traditions it has are rip offs of Aggie traditions.
