You would hate the big 12 if you had to deal with what we dealt with kn 2010 and 2011. Believe me

What specifically did A&M have to deal with?

The LHN?

This sheds some interesting light on that issue:

Go read a book by Loftin about the 2010 meetings about realignment.

So NOW that UTex is finally ready to resume the game—after telling Texas A&M “no”—we should rework our entire schedule and drop the teams with whom we’ve already agreed to play?

We’ll play again, but it’ll be when both teams can make the logistics work (bowl games aside).

And completely upholds the lie that Texas never mentioned money.

Meanwhile we know the truth: Deloss offered to split expenses 50-50 while thinking Texas could keep 70% of the profits.

We said frick that.

It would be to A&M's advantage to prove they are the better program on the field as they claim.

This shows the REAL problem Texas has with a SEC powered A&M.

Back in the Big 12 era it was VERY easy for Texas to get us to run off a cliff trying to prove our worth. All they would have to do is say "are you chicken McFly?" and we would tear down our program just to prove them wrong.

A&M in 2019 isn't playing those games. We aren't going to take you on your word that "it would be to A&M's advantage" when we know the real advantage is to keep yall stuck with a shitty home schedule that your fans barely care about (outside of that marquee OOC game yall will play in front of them every other year).

Prove what exactly and why?

I think we are fine in the SEC and have nothing to gain from playing texass. Yes, the B12 sucks and is basically irrelevant after OU and texass. The B12 sucks and everyone knows it. Next year we have Bama, LSU, Auburn, Clemson, UGA, etc... on our schedule. Why add texas??

We play Bama and LSU every year and somehow you guys think it is super brave of you to schedule a home and home with LSU and then Bama. Congrats on playing an SEC team once a year. So so brave.

Texass... doing less with more. Nothing new.

Please. Sure, the horn non-conference schedule would have been full for 1 or 2 years, at the most. Even now, the horn non-conf schedule is full only for 2020; past 2020 only have 1-2 non-conf teams scheduled.

Back then, horn AD could easily have added A&M after only a 1-2 year interruption. Instead, they decided to be arrogant DBs, but nobody was surprised at their juvenile behavior.

Please stop being dumb as a rock. The horns refused to play the Aggies. Was A&M supposed to just add a 2nd bye week?

UT is already playing SEC teams through 2023.

Doubtful anytime soon for the aggies to get their revenge unless a bowl game.

And the SEC Network would lose around 30% of its value overnight if they did that.

Which is why you aren't in charge of anything except when to pull the fries out of the fryer.

The SEC is a national channel now and the dirt print of Aggyland is no longer needed

When was the last time Texas A&M pulled any kind of ratings anyways? Johnny drugboy days?

All 50 people will miss out.

Weakest of the weak excuses. Big time programs can make room by paying off one or more of their patsy opponents. Essentially you are saying A&M won't do what UT can.

I am glad Texas won against UGA so LSU fans have ammo against A&M fans this offseason.

We have all the ammo we need against aggy for a long time from our own team's accomplishments. You'd need to win 12 more in a row to even the series with LSU.

Dickriding another team's wins might be another one of those aggy traditions we hear so much about, but it's not an LSU tradition.

So A&M & UT are the two best programs in the country? Is that what you are saying? Maybe Texas should not schedule LSU & Bama to see if they measure up to Texas? You're forgetting that football is played on a field, not a balance sheet.

Please, give it a rest. The idiocy is nearly undecipherable.

Just earlier in this thread, a horn fan was saying the exact opposite, that horns would not pay off any opponent to make room for A&M. Horns asserted that their schedule was full, forever they would have had you believe.

Most Aggies and horn fans (that I've seen/read) aren't yet interested in resuming the series.

Jesus Christ. I thought for sure after years of us talking about it pretty much everyone understood that cable footprints and not ratings drive the revenues for the SEC Network, and they you pull up in your mental jalopy and put forth 1990's thinking.

Its very simple math: Texas has 3.8 million cable subscribers. Source:

LINK

The SEC Network makes $0.25 per month for cable subscribers in states outside of the SEC footprint, and $1.30 per month for cable subscribers in the SEC footprint. Source:

LINK

Therefore right now the SEC Network gets $4,940,000 per month just because A&M is in the SEC. That equals $59,280,000 a year just because of A&M which is much bigger than the cut we take from the conference.

Meanwhile if we got "kicked out" the conference would only make $11,400,000 off of Texans each year via the out of market rate, or a difference of around $48 million.

So the SEC loses almost $50 million a year if Texas A&M leaves, and that doesn't count any of the extra bowl money we bring in.

tl:dr - we are worth $50 million a year to the SEC and you are a moron
