To be fair, most of the trolls on this board seem to be playing a character in a way.

This dude seems legitimately unhinged, I've found it's best to just not converse with him as he seems actually incapable of having an honest conversation.

This is solid advice. I need to stop conversing with him.

Taking "solid" advice from NFLSU. Oof.

Or it could be that A&M finally played up to their talent level.

I’m sure that’s not a popular take on here.

A&M has four years of stocking the pond with big fish.

Dude,
You are making a lot of judgements about a coach in his first season with players he didn't recruit.

The week prior you only managed 20 points vs UMass.

The LSU game was more of an anomaly than a trend.

If you are comparing Richt while at Georgia and Kelly while at ND you would be incorrect. However, if you want to throw in Grand Valley State, Central Michigan and East Wyoming Tech and other places...then....

One year comparison after Kelly was handed 39 scholarship players

Oh crap. here we go again. This time next year he will have been handed 10 scholarship players. It's a fisherman's boast in reverse. He never coached a game at LSU with 39 scholarship players.

No he just single handedly developed a roster after the 39 that was competitive enough to beat a team with TOP NFL draft talent and made it to Atlanta. I don't think Richt could have even come close to this feat.

I have numerous UGA friends and family that wanted Richt gone way prior to his departure. I always thought highly of Richt and felt like he just wasn't going to win it all.

That ended up being correct. Had Kelly had the studs Richt had in the early 2000's I feel like he would have won one.

I feel certian that if Kelly sticks with these lowly rated Louisiana kids, he will indeed win multiple.

Not really. No depth on the defensive front and they ran well.

No other coaches helped him? Impressive. He had a recruitment period. 25 at least there and then it seems like he took something lik 15 or 16 from the portal. That adds up to 39+25+15=79.

I get that he inherited a bad situation. But it's not like he went into the season with 39 players.

No he wouldn't have. I loved Mark Richt. But he did not recruit the OLine well or the DLine well. Without those it is near impossible to win the title.

Louisiana has a lot of good kids, no doubt, and i have always said Kelly is a very good coach. It will be interesting to see how he does.

I can honestly live with that. Richt turned Georgia way the hell around. Anyone with common sense knows that Georgia was the second best team in college football in 2012 and was within yards of playing and likely destroying an overrated Notre Dame.

13 high schoolers, 19 transfers.

It's kinda hard to pinpoint the exact number, but LSU probably had 75 scholarship players to start. There was plenty of talent, sure, but when you're counting on freshmen and transfers from lower schools it's a mess.

Kinda hard to get a real feel just based on the 2022 season, just like Miles in 2005.

I do think if we have a real special teams coach and even get average performance out of that unit we beat Florida State and compete better against Tennessee and Georgia.

But if we didn't have Polian we probably don't assemble the talent needed to do as well as we did.
