What's going on with being cheap and refuse to pay the rest of Bielema buyout?

These schools like Ark and UT sign terrible contracts and then try to weasel out of their responsibilities. I hope coaches in the future take notice.

How do schools not realize that being cheap means a quality coach will never want to work for you? Pay the crappiest coach to not coach and then you’ll have a chance to bring in someone of quality.

Huge buyouts are stupid, but schools give it, so pay up when you are stupid.

The questions to be determined are: what is the average salary for defensive consultants, and defensive line coaches, in the NFL? If Bielema was paid substantially less than others in those jobs, then Arkansas has a reason to believe Bret failed to seek proper salary.

Would you pay him more than necessary to "not look cheap"?? It's called business. He did not live up to the terms of his contract.

Arkansas is all about saving money so you can live better. That's nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, an ethos of saving money built the Fortune 1 company in our backyard.

We should have kept Bielema. We got a worse coach, had to pay Bert $12 million, and now we’re paying Chad too. Our administration is such a joke and our teams suck so bad I’ve pretty much checked out, I don’t even watch the games anymore.

Earlier I checked to see when our game was today and it was already over.

More than necessary

That's not what the contract you signed said. What does necessary mean? We can use lawyers to force him to accept less than he agreed?

No, to honor your word and not look like a welsher.

The contract says he has to seek work commensurate with his stature at Arkansas. Instead he loafed around and didn't send out resumes for monrhs, then finally engaged in a conspiracy to be paid far below market rate by the Patriots (and right below the contracts threshold) to keep us paying in bad faith.

Try reading it before spouting off next time. This is not just a case of us not wanting to pay

These threads are always fun to see how many love to talk about something they know nothing about

I know nothing of UT, but we actually wrote a smart contract and Bielema violated it. Therefore we have to go to court to enforce it. No weaseling, except by our fatass former coach

Arkansas is the trailer park of the SEC.

That's quite an accomplishment.

"Look at me I'm so not interested. Hey everyone! Notice how not interested I am!"

If you're so not interested why post about it? The football and basketball teams are improving but you refuse to give any new staff members credit.

You're right though that we should have kept Bert over Chad.

I believe he worked at the UofA at one time... Perhaps under the CMA admin? Not sure on that however...

So all these other schools were lining up to hire him? I guess Arkansas should have thought about that!

This is how you end up having to hire a career OL coach
