Not going to bite on the Arkansas crap.

Major upgrade at Illinois in terms of coaching. Was a very good win today for Illinois with a back up QB doing most of the heavy lifting.

Let's face facts- Nebraska isn't very good and they shot themselves in the foot over and over and over in this game, and still nearly managed to come back in the end. It's a great win for Illinois and their fans should be happy as hell, but lets put the brakes on Bert being a wonderful coach.

Actually he did have the players that Petrino left to do something. But being an alcoholic and no work ethic did him in here. He regularly skipped out on recruiting visits and was found passed out on his desk.

He should have quit coaching and went to rehab.

Some coaches are better fits at certain schools.
Terrible fits at others.
Rich Rodriguez, great fit at West Virginia. Terrible anywhere else.
Scott Frost, great fit at Central Florida. Terrible at Nebraska.
Beliema will probably do quiet well at Illinois, much like he did at Wisconsin.

I seriously doubt he will do as well as he did at Wisconsin. Barry Alvarez was in charge and made sure Bert did it his way. The SEC exposed him.

Nah. He got his wake up call. Hopefully he does not make the same mistakes he did at Arkansas, namely ending every evening at the bottom of a bottle of Tito’s.

I lost all respect for him a few years ago in an Alabama game where he actually flopped on the sideline to draw a flag, then cheered about it.

That right there is all you need to know about his character and everything else. That's a head coach, supposed to be setting a good example, and doesn't even have decent sportsmanship.

In short, frick that fat piece of shite.

He never had the work ethic and was busy on Twitter bragging a bout how he was better than Saban in the Big 10. First year in the SEC, 0-8 and nothing but crickets. Then from that point he went in a downward spiral.

He was suppose to meet a recruit at a home visit with Sam Pittman but he never showed up and Sam called him and was told that he was going to Vegas instead. So Sam had to explain why Bert couldn't show up. That recruit ended up being a four year started at an SEC school.

This upset Sam. Bert had players come to his house but wouldn't come to the door. Then he took another job. Bert made a bunch of weak excuses but Sam was tired of dealing with his childish behavior.
