Id love to see Arkansas get a shot at Boise in the Sugar.

Lets agree that it will be awesome for either LSU or Arky to get ahold of Boise in a bowl, after all the crying they have been doing.

Didn't mean to single you out. Just a response to all the arky posts on this thread, on this board, all over the place about a theory that just doesn't hold any water.

FWIW, I would like to see arky in the Sugar v. BSU too, as the SEC champ, if LSU can't be there.

This is a Cam Newton thread.

You are screwed since it will be hard to find another thread about Cam Newton. Tough Break, maybe anohter Cam thread will pop up this weekend.

The delusional Hog fans are starting to make the delusional LSU fans (who just assume LSU is going to win out and can't stop talking about the BCS scenarios) sound rational.

Sugar has no tie-in with SEC other than SECC. If AU goes to BCSCG they can take whoever they want. They will NOT take a 2-Loss arky and probably not take a 2-Loss LSU either. Sugar: TCU v. wiscy:

But when has the Sugar not taken a SEC team to fill a spot vacated by the SEC champion playing in the BCSNCG? They'll take a two loss LSU, Alabama, or Arkansas. If the SEC champion doesn't end up in Arizona, then a two loss LSU, Alabama, or Arkansas could end up in the Orange Bowl.

Yeah. Go start another 20 threads to chat about Arkansas' remote chances at a SEC title or BCS title.

This thread is all about Cam Newton's eligibility.

Only ESPN is arrogant enough to make "no comment" a big story. "No comment" means "Our attorney has advised us not to comment publicly to members of the media who are likely to spin any comment, including 'no comment', to fit their agenda. He has advised us that 'no comment' is the most difficult to spin without looking like idiots---or ESPN."

I agree, I think the Sugar Bowl would much rather get (a 2-Loss) Bama or LSU in there, for travel, money, and program history reasons. It may be tough with so many 1-Loss BCS teams ahead of us though (tOSU, wiscy, OSUc, Stanford, MSUn, etc.).

2-Loss arky? Not so much. No disrespect... they just have to win their own conference for the 1st time before they will get that kind of hype, plus the Sugar Bowl people will think a Bama or LSU would travel much better. arky therefore has problems jumping LSU (even if they beat us) and Bama, AS WELL AS all the BCS 1-Ls.

CamGate? If the NCAA doesn't intervene before the SECCG, then LSU is our best shot at getting 2 teams in. IF arky beats us, the SEC may only get one team in the BCS this year (AU).

Finebaum just said he told ESPN's College Football Live that the "No Comment" today from AU has created a chilling effect for the Auburn fan base.

Well, DUH.

Dammit, Finebaum, you tease!

It's still the lunch hour here on the Left Coast so time to get some lunch.

Go hog wild, Hog fans.

Is the SEC not the Sugar Bowl's bread and butter? If Auburn wins out a 2 loss SEC team will go to the Sugar Bowl. What the hell does the Sugar Bowl care about a one loss big 10 team.

Arkansas is 1-4 in the Sugar Bowl and hasn't been since 1980.

Is that why y'all are so infatuated with the possibility of playing in the Sugar Bowl?

Thanks to you and your fellow Hogs, I've updated the thread to be a discussion about how futile the Hogs' chances are of making the Sugar Bowl.

Not saying it's impossible but that would mean the Sugar Bowl taking a 10ish ranked BCS team over a team they lost to head to head with a 5 or 6ish BCS ranking.

Bowls take who they want for their own reasons

MU beat Kansas heads up (almost got into the NC game) and ended up in the Cotton bowl while Kansas went to the Orange

It's certainly not about being fair

I get that but it's got to be about money. Arkansas is a decent draw nationally with Petrino and hawg fans would show up big time for their first bcs bowl.

Even tho LSU and Bama are bigger names and national draws than Arky... I would consider giving them a bid if I were the Sugar Bowl

I think their fans would be really excited and have a great turnout. I think the Bama fans are a little complacent because the season is disappointing to them... LSU fans would be happy to be there but it would be more of a 9 out of 10 happy... not 10 out of 10 happy like the Hogs

Now if LSU finishes in the top four of the BCS rankings they are an automatic bid into the BCS (probably Sugar)... but that means beating Arky anyway so kinda a side point
