By 1940, the NFL had legalized passing from any point behind the line of scrimmage, removed penalties for multiple incomplete passes in the same series of downs, moved hash marks closer to the center of the field and instituted a 15-yard penalty for roughing the passer. It even adjusted the shape of the ball to make it more pass-friendly.
It’s almost not even the same game anymore. Any championships prior to ww2 should probably be erased from history.
NFL rule changes since 1940
Maybe claim rugby instead.
ETA: Makes you wonder if bama would have been able to threepeat 2011-2013 if it wasn’t for the passing behind the LOS rule. Marshall was clearly behind the line of scrimmage when he passed, but was outside the box

Aggy is about to run in here and claim they were the only school that sent their boys to war.

Waiting for the “it’s lunch on a Friday and all you think about is A&M”

Football is gonna keep changing. In 2070 are you gonna say any championship before 2020 should be erased because it was a different game?

How much can it change now? Change the field to a trampoline like starship troopers?

Even Gene Stallings is fed up with Jimbo. Says he needs to win more to justify the salary.

He coached the Aggies for seven seasons compiling a record of 27–45–1. During his tenure, the Aggies won the Southwest Conference in 1967, Stallings' only winning season at A&M. At the end of that season Stallings led Texas A&M to a victory over Alabama and mentor Bear Bryant in the Cotton Bowl
Hmmm

One thing that HASN'T changed is the number of national titles than Aggie has won.

Do you want the aggies to win a championship? Because this is how the aggies will win a championship.
Did last season not teach you anything?

Bagging on Georgia for not winning since 1980. Boom.
Dawg fans here handled their win with class. Can't imagine this place if A&M wins one

Georgia has been bagged on for the last 6 years. They’ve been on the cusp of a championship for a while. Aggie has been on the cusp of celebrating individual games since they joined the sec

Don’t give a rats about Aggie….BUT… at least they haven’t yet been on the cusp of … FINISHING IN LAST PLACE… , while paying the head coach more per year than they currently pay Jimbo.
