Thanks!

You'd think me being in banking, I'd get acronyms.

My first call would be to Aranda. I don't think he'd take it but he's a pro he'd quietly turn you down and let the next guy think he's your top choice.

Why would Aranda, Kiffin and Stoops leave for what is a lateral move at best?

Sanders and Grimes, maybe.

#'s 1-4 should be Aranda.

Who thinks Auburn is a lateral transfer from Baylor?

Auburn $$$, fans, facilities >>> Baylor's.

Auburn's BoT is almost as bad as Texas'. Any move to join them includes dealing with that nonsense.

Auburn is not a lateral move for all three. Auburn is in it best shape in it's history financially and facility wise. Now they have the administration behind them for the first time in a while. The weak link is Harsin and his staff.

True, I think auburn has potential. But they have the unfortunate privilege of being in the same state as saban. Until he retires, no coach is going to want to come there.
At this point it’s Kirb that’s probably the rate-limiter for AU’s championship aspirations. Far more athletic talent in GA than in AL, and we used to pick up our share on the reg. Now we’re lucky to get the leftovers.

We always lost our share of recruits from GA. But they also would sign their share. The state produces so much and prior coaching staffs developed many of those players. Not happening the last two seasons. AU is perfectly located with talent within a 200 mile radius, just need a coach that knows what they are doing in the South.

Being sandwiched between the two best recruiting programs in the country definitely hurts Auburn's talent pool.

2. Dave Aranda, Baylor
Agreed. Tied with Stoops for best on the list.

3. Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss
GTFO here. He is a fraud. Should be on the DO NOT WANT list.

4. Mark Stoops, Kentucky
One of the two best on your list.

5. Jeff Grimes, OC Baylor
Probably a safe hire, but coordinators as the HC are a roll of the dice.

Saban is old and on the decline. Deion Sanders at Auburn in his final years is Saban's worst nightmare. Primetime would be the Pat Dye to Saban's Bear

They have dealt with it in the past. TT did well until he got lazy in the end. Chizik did well on the D side of the ball, and even Gus held his own most of the time. The high ranking recruits under him didn't always work out. But AU is in a great location and just needs a hard recruiter.

Yet he still absolutely destroyed Auburn's much younger coach on the recruiting trail this year, so my point still stands. Saban and Smart basically pick whom they want in the recruiting area that Auburn has access to.
