This would be a smart move by the Big Ten because it gives them the hottest program in the country and keeps the SEC out of the Midwest.
How would the B1G taking Cincy keep the SEC out of the midwest? It's not like Cincy is even a remote consideration for SEC membership.

Cincinnati could be a bridge between the SEC and Midwest teams such as Notre Dame. If the SEC is not even considering UC then someone is not doing their jobs.

“BIG 10 has always claimed that academics is the first priority of the league. Those new names don't fit that criteria.”
What are you talking about? B10 academics suck. Most of the schools have over a 50% acceptance rate (and schools like Nebraska, Iowa, Ohio State accept anyone with a pulse). The Midwest is the worst academic / scholastic region in the country.
The B10 has Northwestern and Michigan (Wisco and Illinois are fine schools as well).
Vanderbilt, UGA, UF, Texas, etc. all have much better academics than the vast majority of B10 schools.

I would rather have Army, Navy, UVA, and UNC

Kansas hasn’t played in a bowl game since 2008, if you want that then, well, I’ll have to question your intelligence.

The fact that there are odds on this stuff indicates that it has jumped the shark.
But the $$ talks and will likely continue.
