Toomers corner will be renamed cammys corner. Only if he comes out and says we cheated though. We only appreciate cheaters at auburn. It's how we roll.

Yeah but was that as severe as what So.Cal got? What if AU received the same punishment? Vacating all those wins, revoking the NC, the Heisman committee asking for its trophy back, and a 2-year bowl ban?

The So.Cal fans sure as hell turned on Reggie Bush pretty quickly. If AU gets hit hard over this issue I imagine a lot of their fans will do something similar.
I am going to dinner tonight with a good AU buddy who made the trip out to Glendale to watch AU win their BCSCG. I will ask him, but I can just about guaran-damn-tee you he wouldn't change a thing about last season. He will always have fond memories about it, just like I do about 2004, 2003, and every other year USC has won a National Championship.

oh, i'm aware. but you seem to not understand. this thing with the newtons only got into an uproar because of how much he's gotten. unless it really is a sour grapes thing on the part of the whistle blowers.

This +a million. Nothing will take away the memories of this past season.

Then why are you comparing Cam's situation to anything Saban has done?

Why? so when he talks about that national championship season to any other fan base he gets hit with a "You cheated and wouldnt've won it without cheating and you don't even have the NC anymore because the NCAA took it away" If people have fond memories and continue to embrace a known cheater..

Maybe not on you but it certainly seemed to sting many-a-Trojan.

We weren't allowed on tv for all of 93. Had some restrictions on scholarship limits. Couple other things. And we had to put up with Terry bowden for 5 years. That should be punishment enough.

good for you. there was a thread about this... most of us didn't agree with you.
we love it for auburn fans to think of themselves as champions, especially when no one else does.
*same goes for USC fans*

There's no way Auburn could have won a title without cheating, so it's really just a question of when not if.

Ding ding ding ding. You may have "fond memories" of a season like that, but what if the NCAA comes down hard on AU? Would it be worth it to have to go through the hardship of recovering from an NCAA tourny just to win a BCS title that you didnt even keep?

NCAA doesn't recognize any football championships anyway.

But they can take that win away.

Well, he does have the longest winning streak in auburn history. He wasn't all bad.

Maybe from the books, but everyone will always remember who won the game on the field.

basically, all auburn successfully REALLY did was keep someone else from getting a national championship for 2010.
