For it to be holding, his momentum needs to be slowed
thats nowhere in the rule.

quote:

Section 3, Article 4 of Rule 9 states that a “defensive player may use hands and arms to push, pull, ward off or lift offensive players when attempting to reach the runner.” But they may not use hands and arms to tackle, hold or otherwise illegally obstruct an opponent other than a ball carrier. This is, by definition, defensive holding and carries a 10-yard penalty that is awarded to the offense as well as an automatic first down.

quote:

Blocker Becomes Receiver
After the ball has been snapped, the defender may make contact with an offensive player within the blocking zone. Defensive players may use hands and arms to push, pull, and ward off offensive players obviously attempting to block them. If an offensive player is reported as an eligible receiver before the play, the defensive player must break contact with that player after five yards.

you can put your hands on the offensive player within 5 yards of the los.past 5 yards you are not permitted to put your hands on the offensive player at all unless the ball is in the air and the defender is also a receiver (then its an even thing, both have the right to go get the ball), especially not to try and stop him from making a cut before the ball is thrown, which is what 6 does at the 25 yardline. even within 5 yards you are not supposed to be grabbing jersey, which he also clearly does. 6 uses his arm to try and block Bond from cutting to the outside, and there is enough force there to kinda spin 6 to the right

Close calls wouldn't change UGA fumbling inside their own 15 or being unable to convert 4 different 3rd and 2's.

This is true, which is why a Bama fan melting over this is baffling. Act like you've been there before. Letting LSU fans trigger at will.

That’s cool how Gumps are pointing out holding.

You gonna just ignore all the close calls that UGA had
if our dbs could catch things that passed through their hands we would have had 3 or 4 ints in the game. if they could catch i guess they would be playing receiver

Again, you're ignoring what could have happened for UGA. You sound like you lost the game and are just making excuses for it.

I never said it would, but your partner is trying to act like it would be a blowout for Bama while ignoring all the things that could have gone UGA's way.

Georgia cheated the entire game against us just like Auburn and LSU did!

A little hand checking is not holding.

Face it Bama got all the calls in that game.

In the title game with both WR out, they got away with 5 or 6 Obvious P.I. calls, and we got called for 6-7 P.I. calls that looked far worse than the ones they got away with, what you can not measure in these games is the Bama hate in these Big 12, Big 10, PAC 12 Refs. They can't beat us so the cheat us.

Vs. Clemson, the offensive PI to win the game, all teams do it, but when you make contact you have to call the P.I.

It was clearly a catch and this was clear at the time. Don’t really know what the fuss is about. Sour grapes.

Don’t forget the push off in the end zone on 4th and 31.

Defensive holding might as well not even be a penalty in CFB. It’s rarely called. In the NFL you’ll never get away with that.

Hey I’m good with it. One missed call deserves another “missed call”…just the way she goes.

That's the thing. Bama hasn't won a real title since 2017. A lot of these new Bamafags haven't been there before.

Call was what it was. A bang bang play. It happens every game. Alabama won, we lost. It happens. Would like to see the conference do better but every team and every game has suspect calls…it’s part of the game. Maybe it gets better.
