This is why Bama is insecure despite "Dynasty" They know they are losing yet still getting every year as first 1 loss.
Its a dynasty built on eggshells. Most Dynasties rolled everybody. Bama squeaks by the good teams, which is commendable. But the polls and the politics and Luck is why there is a dynasty.
Bama knows it.

Those claims are as legit as anyone elses...there was no BCS in those days as we all know so it was vote by the wire services...at the time recognized by anyone that mattered.
Before the wire services it was by different publications and organizations,in their time once again recognized by anyone that mattered.
Chicken,while he does a nice job of moderating,in the big scheme of things doesn't matter.
For that matter my opinion would count as much as his,and I recognize each and every one.

No joke! I love it when folks bring this 15 titles business up. Trying to fix an amount of titles as legit is an exercise in futility for other teams' fans because at the end of the day Bama's STILL going to have more than any other team.

Whats really funny is most gumps know the truth about those claimed championship but the young ones grew up with the bullshite and can not admit it. I f that insecure dipshit Mal Moore had never claimed those titles the tide would still have the most but everyone else could not make fun of them.

I just wish all the critics would get together and come up with the number of "legitimate" titles Alabama has, and then (most important part) apply that same set of criteria to their own.

It's really easy. "Claim" them from legitimate polls, AP/UPI/BCS. Don't use polls that weren't even in existence, in the year that they named somebody a NC, as a reputable poll.

Yet every list I've seen criticizing Bama's titles ALL include AP and UPI polls.
I'd be glad to say that Houlgate is not reputable enough to claim. 1941 is a tenuous claim at best. But only claiming AP/UPI/BCS is arbitrarily ignoring all teams before the AP was started in 1936. Football didn't start in 1936.
Even so, if everyone agreed to the criteria, I'd be fine with ignoring pre-1936 titles and only count AP/UPI/BCS titles.

The claim for 1941 is not even tenuous it is an outright lie. Alabama finished the season in third place in the sec behind MSU and UT the highest any poll had them ranked was 20th and that is claimed as a championship? Everybody gets it, greatest program yet but no need to try and steal every thing that is not chained down and lie about it.

Every rational person acknowledges that Bama's title claims are ridiculous. It is entertaining to watch the Bama fans melt down when this top is brought up a few times a year.
