Five commits is a high amount to be following for one school that isn't Oklahoma. It makes sense to me for him to follow the Oklahoma commits but not five UT commits unless he is going to take the UT job and try to flip the Oklahoma commits. Makes zero sense to try to poach that many players from UT to get them to go to OU. That'd be the biggest dick move ever. Maybe he really was impressed with Tennessee when Oklahoma came to Knoxville to play and had to comeback to win in OT.

No but Currie has a large ego, wants his own coach and would like to make a splashy hire per back channels.
IIRC, he was one of the main guys that pushed Fulmer out and pressed for Kiffin + the all star coaching staff. Obviously, that didn't work out in the end but at the time it was considered a home run hire and was a very ballsy move out of the ordinary for Tennessee.

I would welcome another stoops ... can't blame the guy for wanting to compete against the best ... Also , it's a lot easier to find a job in the conference than it is to drag a university into a conference .....

Stoops would be a better fit at TAM. He has consistently recruited the state of Texas for years and that's where OKY gets a lot of their croots. Could be The Banjers but my bets on TAM.
