The only person missing from his staff is Kevin Sumlin. Other the gangs all there. I think he goes 8-4 yearly, especially when he gets back on the sauce with Jeff Banks and starts ploughing strippers and co-Ed’s.

This wouldn't be as funny as it is if the SEC weren't the new BIG XII. But you are....

Upgrade over Herman, but he is what his record says he is:

Texas hasn't won a Big 12 championship since 2009. Yes, the boosters are on steroids, and there will be more pressure on Sark than at any other school other than maybe Bama. But let's not pretend Texas has been any good.

Let's look at reality. It took years of 5-7, 8-5, 9-4, and 8-5...after the BCS loss to Bama...before they pulled the plug on Brown. All three of Charlie Strong's seasons there were hot garbage...6-7, 5-7, 5-7. Half the schools in the SEC would have fired Charlie Strong with that record. He wasn't bad because of booster interference. He was bad because he was bad.

Tom Hermann went 7-6, 10-4, 8-5, and 7-3. Not bad, but not acceptable at programs like Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, etc, etc.

Yes, there will be lots of pressure on Sark. But let's say, over the next 4 years, if he wins a couple of Big 12 championships and is in the playoffs once or twice...not necessarily winning, but just in the playoffs...and has Texas trending upward. That's certainly doable. Yes, the pressure from boosters won't go go away...it will always be there. But that will buy him a few more years.

I predict his first four years will look something like this:

2021...9-4 or 10-3. No Big 12 championship game appearance, but shows improvement over Hermann's last team, especially defensively.
2022...11-3 final record. Loses at home to Bama. Big 12 championship game appearance...maybe he wins...with a NY6 bowl appearance.
2023...11-3 or 12-2 final record...loses in Tuscaloosa, a Big 12 championship and a playoff appearance, but he won't win the NC.
2024...Maybe a regression to 9-4 or 10-3, no Big 12 championship.

If he puts together four years that look something like that, he'll get at least another 2 or 3 years.

Nah. It's true that the best offense in the nation is played in the SEC - but so is the best defense.

Another big concern I'd have, also is the fact that alcoholism is always just one drink away, and trying to be successful under the conditions at Texas would tempt the Pope(yeah, yeah I know he's already a wine drinker).

A Saban or another Herman

Somewhere in the middle. I still don't think Sarkisian is the answer for Texas. Ultimately for their insane expectations, they need someone like Saban but they need that person to be a huge yes man. Doubt such a person exists.

But, at least Sark will get Texas further than Herman did and in the process, get a huge payday.

No one expects to be at a program for 20 years anymore.

His staff seems good on paper so far. We shall see. I think he will be better than Herman though.

This is certainly true, and is a caveat to my prediction for his next four years. If he starts drinking again, all bets are off. I don't think he will, but I certainly wouldn't bet large sums of money on it.

And there are two things he's said publicly that make me want him to succeed even more:

1. He plans to keep singing The Eyes of Texas.
2. He wants to play the Aggies.

Somewhere in between. He’s going to be a nightmare to deal with. Getting kids out of Texas that they really want will be very difficult once he gets his coaches in place and starts to develop those relationships.

His record at USC & Washington is 46-35, winning over 8 games only once in 7 years and never wining more than 9.

Maybe his personal demons prevented him from winning more but until he proves otherwise, expect the same.

Is he his own OC or the HC? The fact is that he's a great OC but absolutely mediocre head coach. If Flood is truly calling the plays would be better for long-term but terrible for the short term. Also, given that Banks is a complete wildcard with his personal life, and Sark is a recovering alcoholic - that's a tall mountain to climb in a cesspool where the boosters call ALL the shots.

And those fans are most impatient, nasty fans in all of CFB. If he doesn't have them in the championship game as soon as next year they will turn on him and his entire staff in short order.

Herman wasn't fired for his record, or the way he coached on the sidelines. He was fired because he pissed the wrong people off. The ones that pay for everything ...

would be a huge game that everyone would actually enjoy watching as opposed to this forced faux rivalry crap with LSU or Texas Tech. Get over yourselves and make it happen.

It would be a lot more appealing than A&M's match-up with east division "rival" South Carolina, too.
1,038 miles between the schools. What a crock of shite.
