And some of the plays were great throws by JFF.
A perfectly thrown football vs single coverage should net a big play, unless Champ Bailey is there or some shite.
Some of the Bama CBs failed jamming Evans @ the LOS, and often the scheme didn't give enough help over the top. But it's hard to have tons of safety help when you are facing a mobile/dynamic QB like JFF.
In the end, Evans is a beast, but good offense can just beat any defense at times.

Well I guess he will get a chance to find out. 6'3 isn't 6'5 with a 40" vertical though and neither of those guys are as physical as Evans. The thing about Evans is he requires so much attention it stresses a defense. You either cover him 1 on 1 and risk getting killed or you double him and leave everyone else in single coverage.
The respective skills of the WRs is not even the biggest difference. Alabama will be able to provide safety help over the top in this game. Alabama could not do that (or at least thought they could not do that) against A&M.
The Manziel factor caused Alabama to change its defensive philosophy (arguably caused them to overthink / overreact with respect to the defensive gameplan). Alabama won't play the same defense against Ole Miss. I think Ole Miss' offense is more similar to attacks that Saban's defense has been able to handle fairly well in the past.

what's he supposed to say, my receivers are inferior and suck, and we're going to get killed , I wish we'd just forfeit?
Not at all. In fact he could even say "We saw that A&M had success with Evans and how Manziel was throwing the ball and we think with the talent we have at WR we can have some real success there."
Going out and saying, "Our WR are better than the guy that just did what nobody ever does against Bama!" just makes you look stupid. Bama's DB's are still very good, they just were physically outmatched by Evans. Mainly though it is just dumb to talk that big before playing Bama. At least he will get his chance to back it up though!

He was obviously led into that answer. But I'm glad he said the truth, instead of making up some bs answer about how A&M is on our level.

Stop being naive. You just don't throw that kind of chum in the water to a team you will be playing this week. Best to be vanilla, but should add some fun to the game now.
meh, that was pretty innocuous, more confidence than "swagger,"(I hate that term,) you hear a lot worse every week

Evans is unjammable. If you are able to jam Evans you should be looking for the RB that is running to his side.

Guess Ole Miss offense is planning on putting up at least 465 yards passing vs Bama.
Good luck.
What the frick did you want him to say?

What does naive have to do with it? Press conferences are boring. Bo made one not boring. Is he wrong? Sure. Is he wrong for believing in his WRs? Nah.

The good news is we get to find out this Saturday if they are even half as good.
I'll call it now, Ole Miss gets 1/2 or less the yards A&M put on Bama.

FWIW I give credit to Evans for being technically-skilled at beating jams (partially due to his physicality)

Donte has a 41" vertical and weighs more than Evans while owning the 3rd fastest 20 time on the team. They are both physical freaks.
So can he do this stuff?
I haven't seen any images of Montcrief outleaping guys like that or overpowering them like that.
