Not only that, but around North Alabama, there are a lot of mountains. To get to Guntersville State Park, he will have to go down a mountain, and then up another mountain, then back down another mountain to get to the city of Guntersville, then back up another mountain to get to Arab and then Cullman.

He will have other mountains in the trip.

4/24: Henagar --> Lake Guntersville State Park 4/25: Lake Guntersville State Park --> Cullman
4/26: Cullman --> Jasper
4/27: Jasper --> Bessemer
4/28: Bessemer --> Tuscaloosa

I bet that first day stretch is hilly/mountainous as a mofo. The area between Scottsboro and Lake Guntersville is quite mountainous as is most of that stetch from there to the Jasper/Bham area. The Bessemer to Tuscaloosa stretch will be the only flat stretch.

60 miles a day. I never get on the bikes at the gym, so I'm not sure how hard this would be. I'm guessing a lot more than I could ever do though.

If he's been riding for a little while - not all that hard.

Back in the day, I had to bike 70 miles, uphill, on icy terrain, with a rusty chain and sprocket, before WD40. Just to get supper.

He better hope Harvey Updike isn't driving anywhere near him!

God isn't that the truth.

60 miles a day is not at all difficult if you're in reasonable shape. I'd have a hard time believing Bo is not in reasonable shape.

And for why he isn't biking through Auburn, the point is he's going through some of the most devastated areas from the tornadoes. Auburn was not affected.

He's been riding for a long, long time.

I'm pretty sure he's owned a Harley dealership in the Chicago area for about 20 years.
