How long did it take you to come up with this mental gymnastics jewel? Nobody knew the depth of narcissism Lane Kiffin has until he handed his exit.

Ole Miss fans are pissed because they got left at the altar. People who hate LSU are using it as an opportunity to troll, despite most of them insisting for months that LSU wouldn't be able to make a good hire. Then there's a sub group of people that just dislike Lane and are seeking confirmation bias to validate those feelings. These groups and the Ole Miss fans are feeding off of each other. The Ole Miss fans believe they're receiving validation but the other group is really just trying to troll. Then the media is in the middle, overreacting as usual, just trying to generate clicks.

He doesn't strike me as a long game kind of guy.

More like he was walking out of the bar at 2:00 am with a 170 lb skank and happened to notice a cute drunk girl stumbling down the sidewalk.

How dare he find another job?

The narcissism.

Spoiler alert: LSU is just a layover, a stepping stone towards his dream, in Lane’s long game.

True but this is what Lane always does. He cannot help himself at this point. Should not be a surprise at all.

LSU fans, desperate to get back to winning, are more than willing to overlook the ethical implications of it all.

I don’t see how this is some kind of knock against him. If he believes in himself then he probably likes the idea of doing this at a better program.

Never even heard of this dude. Just another pretend “journalist” trying to get clicks bashing Lane for taking a better job.

Toppmeyer out here thinking Lane would just come out and say, “LSU is giving me a brinks truck, better $ in a better athlete hotbed so EVERY year, not just one, I can sleepwalk into the playoffs”.

LSU has been through this with Saban, albeit not the direct route, and we do have the consolation that he would have returned if the job was available.

I get the joy you take in any disparagement of Kiffin, but you need to really focus on the moment for Ole Miss. Enjoy the next game and maybe a chance to play for it all.

Kiffin signed more quality talent in one week at LSU than his entire 6 years at Ole Miss. Even when he had advantages on the field against LSU, he struggled to beat them.

He watched Saban put it together and then 2 less than Saban replacements repeat at LSU. You can’t blame the man for jumping at a job he had his sights on recently, that even diehard Ole Miss fans have to admit is considered a better job with much better means to success.

Lane took another job and months later the fans are still crying about it. All he did was take another job.

This is nothing. LSU cried like wee little lasses over Saban telling them to frick OFF for near 2 decades, 2 months is nothing
