I will translate this for you LSU fans.
He is saying he wants and expects his $54 million buyout. But he is willing to negotiate how and when he is paid it. If you have ever been to the bank and withdrawn $100 you may have been asked if you wanted it in $20s or a single $100 bill. This is like that, except we are talking about $54 million dollars.
How the buyout will be paid out is already set in the contract, that isn't up for negotiation.

Other than the fact that they are negotiating whether they pay him via the terms of the contract or in a lump sum, you are completely right. Just like you were about Brian Kelly.
With your track record in all things Brian Kelly, a sane person would just shut up and lick their wounds. The fact you are still here is a mental illness.

Sure, and now they're negotiating whether BK will settle for a lesser, lump sum as well as the mitigation clause.

....which he won't. not to mention that the mitigation clause in his contract is unusually vague and essentially unenforcable, giving lsu even less leverage than most schools would have. as i'm sure you know.

Perhaps not.

It's vague in regards to what is considered his due diligence in pursuing new employment, not really vague in what happens if he takes another job.

Yep, which he has no real incentive to do until he gets a nice opportunity given the vagueness.
Meanwhile he is owed his full buyout. Glad we agree.

In tonight’s episode of SEC Rant, SidewalkTiger will be playing a contract lawyer.

you would think sidewalktiger of all fans would want kelly to get what's owed to him. was once his biggest fan. sad to see how it turned out.

Is anyone saying he isn't?
Negotiations are only over whether he wants a lesser, lump sum and to a lesser extent, the mitigation clause.

No shite, I would want the whole contractual agreement as well

The reality is that BK has zero leverage in this situation. Lsu only has to pay the yearly requirement until it’s paid in full. BK, however, is required to mitigate his loss. Lsu can force his hand in this regard.

delusional.
agree that lsu only has to pay the monthly installments until it's paid in full though.

Don't give any coach 10 yr contact but you did so pay what's owed.

BK can come out ahead, if he can get enough of a lump sum.

No chance he gets it. Lots of his dirty laundry will start getting aired out

Golf?
shite, IF playing golf decreases a buyout, Hugh “Member-Guest” Freeze may have to pay Auburn 16 million dollars.

So is the buyout being negotiated or not? Your answers differ. You seem confused. But you have been confused by Brian Kelly for over 3 years.

Too late! They had to notify him ten days before they fired him and they did not . Everything that has been posted is they fired him without cause.

Yeah, lots of people are saying otherwise. Scott Woodward attempted to use a vague “morals clause’ to force BK to settle for less. Man up, pay what you agreed to. Or are you gonna welch on your agreement like you did with the Aggie series? Right now LSU has a serious image problem. You dont keep your agreements, you rob children’s hospitals, you have covered up multiple sexual assault issues, kept as AD and HC that were involved, et al. Brian Kelly may not have been a great coach, but he ran a clean, scandal free program at LSU. Pay the money dipshits, move on.
