I love Birmingham. Both college GFs were from there, but I'm Mobile born and bred. So, doesn't much matter to me.

Considering that Alabama has been awarding degrees for longer than AU, and that we have more students and living alumni, it'd probably be easier to find one of us than one of you.
But then again I'm just using common sense

It's the business, financial, and retail capital of the state. It has its bad areas, just like any other city, but on the whole it's no worse than Montgomery or Mobile. Stop being a hater.

I was thinking of all the corrupt politicians who have been elected from there...like Larry Langford. After all he was elected by the majority, right?
Not a hater, just a realist.

Birmingham is like LSU lots of talent and potential it just has politicians worse than the LSU coaching staff.

Live in "The Ham" and sadly I can vouch for this quote on both points

I am from Montgomery, and I never, ever, ever, ever ever want to live there again. Also, I love how Auburn people on here(not all) gloat about having a rich fanbase(which is hillarious, because there are easily just as many backwoods redneck AU fans as there are Bama fans) as if rich people are supposed to be cool, good, easy going people.
I dont give a frick about how much money a person has, if they are good people, then thats enough for me. People who do give a frick about how much money someone has are pretentious douchebags to a very high degree. I just thought I would point that out.

I'm from Montgomery, and people have been calling it 'the Gump' or 'Gumptown' since at least the late 90's. Before that lots of people called it 'Monkeytown'(I'm sure it wasn't anything racial

This^^ I've also noticed that some Auburn fans like to put on airs and pretend their fanbase is better.
AU did start out as an agriculture school, so maybe a few of the fans, students and alumni are a little embarrassed about that. Alabama does have a law college. The last I heard, lawyers, judges and politicians make pretty good money too. So, I wish certain AU fans would quit putting on airs.
And I have never heard of Montgomery being called the "Gump". I have heard some people call it "Monkeytown".

I have always thought that the very large majority of Auburn fans have a real connection to the school.
I thought Bama was the school with all tye fans that had no connection to the school.

what is wrong with agriculture?

AU has some serious necks in their fanbase in and around Bham too. Drive through Walker County or Northern Jefferson County and you'll see plenty of AU flags on trailers.

Bham is mostly Bama fans
Montgomery is about 70% Bama fans. There is a hood called Chisolm that is so redneck and all you see is the scripted A everywhere.
Mobile is mostly Bama
Auburn is full of mostly Barn fans

that's true. I was just wondering why any auburn alum should be ashamed that auburn started out as an agriculture school?

Nothing. I didn't say that there was anything wrong.
But why do a lot of AU people act like their fanbase makes more money than Bama's?
