After a perceived disastrous day on the recruiting trail, Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier penned an open letter to Gator Nation. The letter will also be sent to boosters and season ticket holders, as well as appear in the Sunday edition of the Gainesville Sun.
quote:
One of the top uncommitted prospects in the country is quarterback Jaden Rashada. The talented passer took an official visit to Florida and the Gators were trending to land his signature. Rashada was scheduled to announce his college commitment on June 18, following an official visit to Florida. He pushed that date back and took an official visit to Miami.
quote:
“One thing we have learned in the past six months is that Gators are resilient and passionate. In all kinds of weather.
“I can assure you that no one has higher expectations for what we want to accomplish than me.
“This will be a team effort. All of us, no matter what our role is, can make a positive impact in the success of our program. From our students cheering their loudest on Saturdays at The Swamp, to our boosters, alumni and everyday fans: We all must have a championship approach in all that we do.
“You are part of this team, and we can’t wait to see you at The Swamp this fall as we embark on the journey to our new future.

They need Urban back to sign some real "killer" recruits

Jesus. That’s not a good look. I get what he was going for but that’s cringey as hell.

Oof. Even if you have a disastrous day on the recruiting trail, there is no need to publicly acknowledge it, and you definitely shouldn't "pen a letter". Just learn from it and keep recruiting.

Makes him look like he's already on the hot seat. I have to wonder, if he loses to someone outside of Georgia this season will the calls for fire him come immediately?

Not a good start at all for Billy.

This isn't a letter to "normal" fans. This is a not so thinly veiled letter addressed to boosters telling them that they're failing at the NIL level.

eerrby is trying to play catch up to A&M
we were more than ready when NIL was approved
since June 2021, A&M has run the AMPLIFY program to leverage NIL in recruiting and preparing athletes for life after college
AMPLIFY
Texas Aggies lead the way.

Apologizing for recruiting in his first year. That is a bold strategy ...

Or maybe it's a cop out because he doesn't know what he's doing
Florida has always gone about it in an unconventional way because if spurrier. Maybe the dude should have realized that before he took the job
He's the one that hired 55 support staffers specifically for nil and recruiting stuff Maybe he should show he knows what he's doing before receiving a hand out from the boosters

He should have begged his boosters for money while claiming that A&M bought every recruit and he'd never bought a single one - so please give us some money we we can buy some.
