Per Keith N. on their Florida On3 site

What I’m hearing

Yes, it does sound as though Billy Napier’s chances of surviving are improving and there are important people in his corner at UF. Financial concerns appear to be one reason for this, sources say.

Apparently, the powers that be have real concerns about where the money would come from needed to buy out Billy Napier, pay the buyout for a new coach, provide a large contract to that new coach and hire a top-notch staff. On top of all that, UF will need $20 million for the new revenue sharing model with athletes. When you add it all up, you’re talking about a really big number (north end of $50 million). And that seems to have UF concerned.

Clearly, there is hope at UF the football team can continue to show signs of life and finish the season strong. But obviously, that’s no sure thing with the upcoming schedule. How many more wins does BN need to be safe? We don’t have the answer to that. Nor do we know what, if any impact, the program’s sluggish recruiting at the moment is having on all of this.

Well when you have alumni coming out saying that his buyout is paid for it is hard to recruit. Come out and say he is safe and I bet recruiting improves immediately.

What should be done eventually, must be done immediatley.

Letting him hang around another year because they exceeded their projection of 4 wins doesn't seem to do much good for the program. But hey, I'm not complaining!

Florida has probably already fricked itself with it's lack of support.

They are ranked 50th in recruiting with only 11 recruits and not a great average.

Shitting on your coach and not supporting them because your fanbase is a bunch of entitled bitches has consequences.

Anything less than 6-6 and a stomp of FSU should be grounds for immediate firing the morning after that game. Not because of wins and loses but due to the lack of any improvement over 3-year period. Same mistakes, same results, same resistance to change.

So, to get to 6-6 who can the Gators upset? UG, UT, LSU or UM?

Interested coaches please send resumes to UF AD Stricklin.

Alabama has the #1 recruiting class currently, so obviously the money and support hasn't dried up the way it did with Florida.

No doubt it could happen, but you can't say it's happened yet.

I've had more faith in Napier than Florida fans. That's sad.

His team is playing much better than anticipated so this may save him.

Finishing 6-6 or better with that brutal schedule will give him a 4th year. Everything rests on Lagway’s shoulders now.

I hope he sticks around for 2025 as we play UF again next season.

There is obviously a messaging war going on behind the scenes right now. People not only want Billy’s head, they want Scott Stricklin’s too. Unfortunately our admin is a disaster with an interim president (who was also the one who hired Stricklin originally) as well as the deans of many big programs, such as the law school. If Sasse was still president, Billy and Stricklin would both be gone by now. Its a mess.

We've watched a lot more of him than you have. Most fans kept faith, outside a very vocal minority, until this year. I was hopeful until the Miami and A&M games. Even though we played Tennessee close, it was his coaching that cost us the game. All that showed is we've got talent and he continues to squander it. Beating Samford, UCF, Kentucky and Mississippi State doesn't prove anything.

Also, we have people who are willing to support the team financially. We had a top 5 recruiting class last year before we lost 5 straight to end the season. We ended up with 2 top 5 recruits last year. That was because of NIL money. We just have a bad coach and worse administration.

You're basically proving my point.

And from what I've seen, it's been this way since he was hired. 0 hype over the hire from Florida fans.

I live in Florida and I rarely see Florida Gators logos. Not that I'm out searching for them or anything, but I saw 3 cars and a house with a flag on them that had Miami logos on them yesterday.

FSU logos have dried up.

I think the majority of you just bandwagon between Florida teams.

Keith N. has told us nothing we didn't already know. Why don't you run back over there and quote me.

"I am hearing that if Napier runs the table, he will get a contract extension and a raise."

Agree it's all on Lagway. With our schedule from here on our he needs to be superman to save Billy.

He looked extremely good vs a top 10 Kentucky defense. But he still needs to overcome Billy's terrible play calling and game management.

Enormous ask for a true freshman.
