Bill Clark has a debilitating back issue. He wouldn't be able to withstand the SEC grind.

Great coach, though.

It’s right on Randy. Most of Auburn posters are level headed. You are the exception, do you really believe that you have the second best program in the sec . You won’t

Auburn has had 6 different coaches win a national championship including 4 in a row from Dye to Chizik and were :13 seconds away from making it 5 in a row.

Please list the titles won by Dye, Tater Tot, and Tubbs.

You are 11 days away if Auburn loses to Missouri and Vandy from Freeze being fired.

Impressive. Even LSU can't say that.

agree Auburn was screwed in 04.

1983 is when they were screwed. That's the truth.

Auburn is a great job, leaps and bounds better than Ole Miss. Be realistic. Lots of coaches would love the opportunity. Freeze will be fired within 7 days. MMW

I think he is a fantastic coach and at one point I wanted him to be the coach. Don’t know if he ever turned Auburn down or not, but I think he probably did. I also think there are quite a few really good coaches who are struggling with the new landscape of the portal and NIL. Not sure if Clark could manage it. He would not be in my top 5 today.

No good coach will go to Auburn right now.
there’s a school in the SEC that has:

- had a successful HC fake an illness to get out of his contract to go coach another national power
- fired his replacement after 4 seasons for failing to live up to expectations
- fired his successor halfway thru his 3rd season after he had won 19 games and two division titles in his first two years, then refused to pay his buyout because he couldn’t prove that fans had called in death threats
- poached his replacement from another SEC program, then fired him before the end of his 4th season, despite his winning 70% of his games and being ranked #6, #7, and #12 in his first three years
- hired a highly regarded G5 HC who barely survived his 3rd season and will surely be dismissed before the end of his 4th

and yet everyone here is convinced that they can hire pretty much anyone they go after

1983, 1993, 2004 two undefeated seasons plus a 1 loss campaign in 1983 that made us number 1. Who else has had 3 undefeated seasons in the SEC since the SEC was split into East and West. I believe nobody but Bama might have 3.

I was correct. Alabama has 2…. 1992 and 2009. Nice try… maybe one day!

1993 - Florida State awarded title by AP. Auburn was on probation a banned from bowls.

2004 - USC won BCS title game. Also AP national champion.
