Their visiting fans are even more pathetic. They generally walk around with their heads down, and quickly agree to embarrass themselves in front of all the generic uncreative corndog traps you see around. They think as long as they wear backwards flat bills and graphic tees that the dainty OM folks will cower down, but instead they just get laughed at. After wins, they are too afraid to even celebrate and generally try to leave campus as quick as possible
Yeah... Sounds like some editorializing in here.

You wouldn't do this.

I experienced it first hand when we went down there in 2002. It was bad. I remember it was so bad that Skip flew to Columbia to apologize to Holtz and the SCAR fans that made the trip.
They were pelting our buses with bottles, screaming vulgarities ... we still call it "The Gaunlet" to this day.
Funniest thing I remember is this guy running beside our slow moving bus that was part of the caravan, and he was obviously drunk as shite. But he had this can of black spray paint and he was running along the side of the bus painting something from one end to the other. We were all amazed at his drunk cardiovascular acumen.
When we finally departed the bus we all got off and were amazed ... that guy had spray painted a big cock and balls, complete with hair on the balls, all the way down the bus from the front to the rear and he even included the mushroom and piss hole on the business end. It was a feat, make no mistake about it because he was dodging bottles and other stuff being thrown the whole time and he was drunk as heck.
They've cleaned-up their act a lot since then. But Lou Holtz vowed to never return, especially with his wife Beth sitting in the front seat of the lead bus.

As bad as that makes LSU fans seem, that is a fantastic story. Great job telling it.

Biggest myth in the SEC: Hostility of LSU fans.
quote:
I've posted about it several times. When I went back in 2008 it was the exact polar opposite. 03 was the worst I've ever been treated at an away game, 08 was likely the best.
See, that's the point. In 03 they still had some stragglers from those late 90s students who truly were badasses. They are all gone now though, and you would be more likely to get beaten up in church.
That you would mention '03 LSU fans is monumentally ironic.
I made the mistake of going to the LSU-OM game in Oxford in 2003. I have never seen such an ungodly mob of vulgar, jealous, vitriolic, stinking, screeching pieces of trash as the OM fan base to visiting LSU fans that day.
We literally feared for our safety.
They made Alabama fans look like Vandy fans, which is saying something.

Their fans are the biggest cowards I've ever been around. They are aware that they have the bad reputation, and that alone usually works well enough for them, so they do their little tiger baits anticipating you will walk away in silence. However, if you show the least bit of resistance, and start yelling shite back at them they become shocked and confused, and quickly offer you food or beer to ease the awkward situation.
Wow, you're trashy.. You are supposed to be classier than the Tiger Baiters

Do you think it would be possible that your friend could post the video of you getting Ko'd by an LSU fan on youtube and then link it in this thread?
Thanks

My pleasure and it is a true story. Several of us talk about it from time to time, only wishing we had these modern phones with us back then so that we could have video taped the whole thing as it happened.
Eta: Heard rumors that someone, somewhere, has a video tape of part of it that was taken by someone who was standing along the grassy knoll. The one guy who tried taking pictures from inside the bus that I know of, his pictures were worthless because the guy was running so close to the bus that the glass reflected too much to make out what was going-on outside the bus.
What was the name of that road where we ran the gauntlet? I remember something like Jack Nicholson Blvd and then Tiger Stadium Drive I think maybe?

Yea...so when different fan bases talk about the 3-5% of complete morons that poorly represent the fan base as a whole. That's you they are talking about.
You would anticipate someone respond to your douchbaggery with "hostility"? If they did, that would make them a douchebag on par with you, and again, represent the 3-5% of shitty fans that give us all a bad name.
You have an Updyke mentality, but unfortunately just Ole Miss talent. Do the rest of your fan base a favor and STFU.

So you're a douchebag and you think it's a bad thing that all LSU fans are not douchebags?

If someone tiger baits you, you scream back "frick you mother fricker?" Looking beyond the Internet badass front, you sound like an intolerable douche. Depending on the setting/alcohol intake If you screamed that in my face I would either point and laugh at you or throw you into your shitty picnic patterned table cloth Abners buffett.
