Aren't the points value less?

Only if booked through the Chase portal. You can still get the most bang for your buck by transferring points to an airline and flying business class, which is what we do the most. Or Hyatt. There's definitely times where booking through the portal is worth it for hotels though. Small % with economy airfare as well.
It is. I've been there over 20 years now and she's a shoe-in

I thoroughly enjoyed Ted smacking her and DIMS down. More of that needs to happen. She is so stupid and that's the scary part of places like Hawaii where the majority are not serious people who just vote DIM no matter what.
You've gotten some good answers here and some I would not recommend. Marriott is pretty shite even with a bonus because of their crappy dynamic pricing model. If you just need to top off to get a booking done that's fine, but transferring 500k I would strongly suggest not to.

Hyatt just did a major devaluation yesterday. They still have great redemptions and this would not be a terrible way to go, but if you don't already know what you want to do, speculatively transferring points is not a good idea. Same about transferring to airline programs.

As mentioned, you don't have to do anything with the points as long as you have one of the Ultimate Rewards earning cards. I believe there's a free one you can downgrade your CSR to which is like the visa freedom unlimited UR card or something like that

I would do that and then I would apply for the CSP and get a nice bonus. It's only $95 a year. Don't downgrade to the CSP because then you don't get a sign up bonus.

I also have an AMEX Plat and Venture X. I am potentially gonna get rid of the CSR for a csp myself, but not sure yet. The VX is easy as long as you can travel each year. The $300 portal credit is super easy to use. The Platinum is $895 but it's very easy to get that in their coupon book as long as those credits match what you organically would do anyway like I do.

TLDR keep your UR and spend them when you need to spend them as they are very valuable.

All of this

Plus I'll add the micro peen the creator has that not only made Homelander Trump but also took a dig at Musk in the finale

I'm glad this turd is flushed.
WTF, what's your beef with The Exorcist anyway? It's the scariest movie of all-time imo. It's why I watch Halloween every year and not The Exorcist
The Exorcist

I absolutely love Halloween, it's my favorite to watch every year. But, if The Exorcist doesn't win this shite is rigged. Rigged I tell you!

Going to the Dr. and then when I get back to the office I'll get the championship match out

Nice link, hadn't seen that one before. Just ran a scenario I will potentially do next year with a Roth conversion of ~$100k(will need to figure out dividend of course) and LTCG of $30k. MFJ, just used the Std ded for now. 0% LTCG and 5.9% effective on the conversion. Nice to see it on the graph and easily calculated.

This is why I contribute 100% of my 401k traditional and supplement with 2 Roth IRAs and cash.

Just retired last year. While I had my SCorp I would max my i401k and then max Roth. Always i401k first for the pre-tax treatment. Nearly all years I could max my Roth other than a couple where we were over the limits. This is the first year of us doing Roth conversions. Will be doing a mix of that and LTCG for a while.

would prefer sharing the room with as few people as possible. Less retards playing origami with their popcorn bags or talking the entire time (not hating on people eating popcorn but there's always that one guy acting like he's unwrapping Christmas gifts)

 all of this. I can't even stand to hear people chewing popcorn, open mouth Neanderthals.

Oops! You let that one slip by didn't you? Funny watching retards twist themselves into pretzels over shite that isn't real. Remember, TRUST THE SCIENCE.

How was it? I went to NY last August and it was already done so I was a bit disappointed.

I think you mean younger folks may not have heard of it, but I loved that shite when I was younger.

The way the voting has gone this whole tournament the Exorcist has been a freight train, it's going to be hard to beat.

Being straight up, I was always going to vote The Exorcist as #1. It scared the frick out of me as a kid and it still creeps me out to this day. Growing up Catholic makes it even more serious haha

I have a feeling quite a few in the thread had a similar experience. The second scariest movie to me as a kid was The Shining. That fricking granny in the tub had me scared to pull back the curtain to take a shower

As anything but a side freak and this is a huge joke where Hollywood is just laughing at everyone.

What bums me out the most is I absolutely loved reading The Iliad and The Odyssey as a teen. I've been a fan of Greek mythology since I was a little kid watching Clash of the Titans with my dad. Hearing Nolan and The Odyssey and i was all in. I will not give my money to this nonsense. I know I'll likely watch it on streaming eventually unless everyone beats it up more after it actually comes out.
Oof, I really wanted The Thing and TCM to make it. And yet I'm seeing a lot of Jaws over Halloween, a true horror movie. Seeding makes this one tough imo as the championship is The Exorcist vs The Shining. Oh well, my vote is simple:

The Exorcist
vs
Halloween
Finally 4? Please release the numbers on the Elite 8 as well TIA

Plus at any given time, one of us could die and the survivor gets stuck in single bracket with no room to convert below 22-24%. Also thinking I want to get it done so I can free up more space to spend from taxable to increase lifestyle without exceeding 12% bracket and triggering LTCG. That said, voluntarily paying 24% bracket doesnt sit well. But I know if I dont pay it now I'll almost certainly hit 24% later and also IRMAA, NIIT etc... At that point, all LTCG and qualified dividends would be taxed during distribution years instead of a handful of conversion years.

Makes sense. I've also been thinking about going higher one year or two as well because yes I will need to start selling equities to live and I want to be able to do it w/o LTCG tax. I was thinking of alternating years or just doing a smaller Roth conversion. But then I start approaching 60s with my 401k growing more as well.
