Catching a cop requires a pattern of abuse to discover their actions. How many people and how many times did the officer violate a person's rights before that pattern emerged? Id rather they not have the opportunity. And a few more caught criminals isn't worth the trade off to me.

How have abusers of the system been punished?

At least here in the Houston area, they resigned, and the department said that is good enough and no policy changes will be coming. Pasadena, TX for this incident. We have 4 others in 4 separate suburbs going through the same thing at the moment.

Then go make you some money.

Poliboard should have lots of rich ballers considering how confident everyone is in Paxton.

AI creators and execs, at least in the short term, will price it so high that the cost benefit of replacing a living work force with AI won't offer the ROI CEOs will want. Especially with the pricing models the AI companies are rolling out to Corps.
That was a really dumb statement for a campaigning politician in the US. Maybe not quite the disaster that Beto's gun statement was, but really, really, dumb.

Yea, that's attention whore behavior and pretty fricked up in general.
I see more kids flying around on e-bikes than I ever saw kids of my generation ride dirty bikes. We wanted them, yes. But we didn't get them as often as the kids do now.

The Chinese are running the same playbook the Russians ran against us. The Russians funded leftwing organizations to oppose US oil and gas drilling because it threatened their oil and gas markets. Now the Chinese are funding the left and gullible “Republicans” to oppose data centers for the same reasons.

This review reportedly stemmed from several data centers’ failure to comply with a PUCT survey to determine water and power usage. The agency says that it asked 377 data center companies to send the required information, but only 28 have submitted so far.

More than 1,800 projects are awaiting the go-signal from the regulator to connect to the grid, 90% of which are data centers. The combined demand that these applications will put on the grid is expected to hit 474 gigawatts, which is five times that of the current peak demand that ERCOT has recorded and is much higher than forecasted data center demand by 2035.

Is it propaganda... or math? 474 GW is stupid.

He's got a "rally", campaign stop at 713 tomorrow night. If anyone is interested in supporting their favorite candidate.

Add in H1B, Student Visas, Farm visas, etc and we are now legally importing more than we are exporting

It's still an invasion. The only difference is we aren't lifting the barbed wire for them to crawl under like Biden did.

The entitlement here is crazy. As if you "deserve" to be here more than those who actually struggled, migrated, paid, learned, and did everything as required by law to be a citizen here. Why? Because you happened to be born at the correct latitude and longitude? They earned their citizenship. Moreso than 90% of native born Americans.

Who is this? Where is this unicorn politician?
There's new information every day that Paxton continues to choke away this race. Minimal appearances, no ads, no press questions, a horrific likability rating, poor polling, and just zero national (R) support in general. This board doesn't even talk about him except in the context of a Talarico thread.

And you've got, "but the other guy is gay!" And are gonna act shocked and bewildered when the dude wins?

OK. Minimal effort politics. Let's see how it works out.

No slush fund, no vote, sounds like a pretty logical, conservative position. But... here we are.

people wronged by the government

You can supplement the finances of your favorite rioter, no one is stopping you, but legislating that the American taxpayer do it is corrupt as frick. And asking the public to trust the "guardrails" the administration supposedly will put on the money is 100% delusional. We paying the informants? The provacateurs? The re-arrested? The few convicted pedophiles confirmed to be there that day? Nah, frick that. Just kill the abomination now. And Cornyn has all the motivation in the world to get that done.
quote:

Why are they SOOO fricking worried about that IRS settlement?

Because it's corruption explicitly written into legislation. Not hard to figure out. Even most of the die hards here admitted it was dirty when the original story broke. The admin wants to keep it quiet until the clock runs out and people forget about it. Cornyn is actually doing his job. The payback on Trump is just a bonus.

The real question is why you're ok with a republican slush fund while screaming about USAID for the past 2 years. See post above.

Didn't you start that abomination of an Usha Vance thread a while back? This definitely tracks.
