Nolen just declared for the draft today. His college career was pretty mediocre in total.
He was really, really good at Ole Miss this year. No way on earth should be come close to a bust list. I was a little skeptical about him coming in but he earned every bit of the hype.
Juice Wells was easily the bigger disappointment but I kind of blame Ole Miss for that. He had been a slot most of his career and his skill set was much more suited for that, but Ole Miss already had a lot of slot talent so we played him outside which was clearly not where he was most comfortable. The biggest disappointment was probably the Washington OL transfers. They battled injuries but the Ole Miss OL didn't live up to hype.

Can I nominate Eli Ricks, post mortem?
From All-American, future first round pick at LSU to sitting in Saban's dog house under the bench for half his final season before becoming an undrafted free agent
Not really defending him, but he did have a pretty serious back injury in the Fall leading up to that season. I think that plus being in the doghouse really derailed his draft status.
Credit to him for making it in the NFL anyway. Starting for Philadelphia if I'm not mistaken.

Juice Wells would be ours.
We didn't realize it at the time ... but we really dodged a bullet with that guy.

Quinshon's mom killed his legacy at Ole Miss, his draft stock, and Ole Miss's 2024 season trying to squeeze out a few extra dollars after we had a signed agreement. I hope Q realizes how selfish she is and separates himself before she does more harm.
Them grapes sure is sour.
Maybe don’t piss all your money on poaching outsiders including a RB who was injured and protect your own roster.
He gained more yards than your leading rusher averaged more per carry and gets to play in the playoffs.
I’m sure he’s good with his decision.

TN paid a lot for Lance Heard and gave him LT and he was easily one of the worst starting LT in the country.
That's gotta be the one from LSU to elsewhere that had a ton of hype

don't see how earning a starting job at Left Tackle for the 3rd best rushing team in the SEC would make him a bust.
Because he was one of the worst LTs in the entire country.
He had a 46.7 PFF grade, which is seriously god awful, especially for a starter. I'm shocked you didn't have someone better, or you simply promised him LT in his NIL agreement. He clearly isn't a LT at this level. He is way out of shape.
With 306 total D1 OT who qualified with 300+ snaps this season, he ranked 288th out of 306. Only 3 SEC OT graded out worse than him with 300+ snaps on the season.
Ouch

Logan Diggs
Transferred to Ole Miss for his 5th and final season, hurt, never plays a down.

Feels like a far bigger bust. A former 5 star QB who was a top 20 recruit in the country. He was awful.

You sound bitter. Bond saw the writing on the wall and got the hell out of there.

I thought he was one of our best cover corners in history. Up there with Peterson and Stingley. The covid year and us sucking took center stage, but he was special. I was really butt hurt when he left and shocked he didn't ball out at Alabama. I knew he was injured but didn't realize it was that serious.

Biggest busts of the 2025 transfer portal likely from Bama

now do coaching hire busts
Deboer lost to Vandy and OU
Saban really broke your fanbase didn't he ?
You guys hired Brian Kelly dumb arse who lost to a soft arse USCw team , got boat raced by A&M who couldn't complete a forward pass , and lost to Florida .
I'd take Deboer straight up over BK and I have no horse in this race

So the guys leaving 'Bama turning out to be busts is supposed to be some sick burn? Or maybe you're just retarded.
Highly rated players that leave 'Bama usually don't do jack shite. Tell me how many of these 5 stars went on to great success after transferring elsewhere.
Ben Davis (class of 2016)
Eyabi Anoma (2018)
Ale Kaho (2018)
Antonio Alfano (2019)
Trey Sanders (2019)
Scooby Carter (2019)
Drew Sanders (2020)
Tommy Brockermeyer (2021)
Ja'Corey Brooks (2021)
Caleb Downs (2023)
Julian Sayin (2024)
Jaylen Mbakwe (2024)

I'm pretty sure he was pushed out, so not really fair to the kid. But Kentucky did talk big about him.

Drew Sanders was good for Arky.
Brockermeyer is a starter.
Downs was good for OSU.
Sayin - to be determined
Mbakwe - to be determined
Brooks - 1,000 yd season
So potentially the last six have all done well by leaving Bama.
