But do you remember who knocked of UConn the last 2 or 3 times they went on a mega streak?

I can't.

Title gets a trophy and a banner. Only the players and some hardcore State fans will remember the UConn win.

And as the poster above me mentioned, they're good enough to have booth.

It's similar to Ole Miss beating Bama. UCONN is a bigger dynasty and beating them is a remarkable year but why not do both? State already beat UCONN so let's win the whole damn thing.

Stanford was the last time.

Full disclosure, I only know this because they mentioned it 43 times during the MSU/UConn game

It's hard for a team (USC) to beat another team 3 times in a row.

SC has won 10 in a row since Vic Schaefer has been head coach at State. I know your talking about the same team in the same season but SC has kicked our arse for a while.

That's about as fricktarded a question as I've ever heard

But is it really? Not exactly the same since we won the Gold, but I would put that as a similar situation as the US beating the Soviet Hockey team.

From my standpoint, beating UConn was incredible but to fall one game short would be a disappointment

Exactly. Kind of like the 1980 USA hockey team beating the USSR. It wouldn't have been remember the same long term if they had not went on to win the Gold.

I understand your frustration, you cocks went from being the darling of the board to an undesired championship opponent in less than 24 hours. It will be OK

Right now? Beating UCONN. The title would make a nice bit of hardware and give State a national championship which I know is important to them. But beating UCONN is the far more amazing accomplishment at this point in time, especially given the disparity between the two teams (hell UCONN and everyone else) and the level that UCONN has been playing at.

Hopefully, State gets both.

I kinda get what you're asking, but it's not a useful question this season -- in order to win the title, they had to beat UConn. So the latter is bigger. If it had been a regular-season game, the question would make for some good debate.

Winning the championship is important., but the happiest team in the tourney Friday night was probably USC knowing they wouldn't have to face UConn! Go Dawgs!

I remember it was Notre Dame ending UCLA's 88-game winning streak, and the Irish didn't win the title that year.
