Big ten is just trying to promise the players football in thanksgiving so no players transfer before the sec and acc start playing. Then once it’s too late to transfer they will cancel the season again. Screwed up.

How the hell is it safe to play in late November through the beginning of the year in the heart of flu season but not safe to play in late September, October and early November? What the hell is the difference?

Zero difference, except the flu is deadlier, and that's WITH a vaccine.

Looking out for the players health.

Want to start at time viruses thrive.

More like, Warren knows he's busted and wants to save face.

SOURCE: Big Ten coaches are meeting on a call right now. Am told "it's a real possibility" that the Big Ten may try to reverse course and play later this fall.

@CBSSports can confirm @BigTen is considering a schedule that would start the season Thanksgiving week. Could be pushed back to original January start date.

A Big Ten season starting with at least eight games the week of Thanksgiving.

Huh. Right after the elections. I’m sure that’s just a coincidence

I can't wait to see them play football in Wisconsin in late January! Or at Penn State, or Ohio, I will laughing my you know what off!

I hope they reinstate recruiting visits at that point so some kids from Mississippi or Louisiana or Alabama can go sit in a blizzard to watch the games

Wouldn't shock me if they move it all the way up to mid-October, which is certainly doable. This way they can finish by Christmas and try to convince the CFP be pushed back a couple of weeks (which could happen).

I still think the PAC 12 would need to be on board for this to happen though.

That'll be strange. I wonder if they will claim a National Championship and give it to their conference champion. The rest of football will be winding down their seasons and getting ready for the playoffs and Bowls and they will be playing only a BIG 10 season with no playoff or bowls to prepare for.

Well, there is no doubt that the mortality rate is higher with the flu. The biggest difference is Covid spreads easier/faster and more people get it. But there is no doubt that the mortality rate is higher with the flu. Pretty sure no medical person would disagree with that. When you consider asymptomatic people and false positives and negatives.......if the entire world were tested the numbers of people who will have had covid would go through the roof, while the mortality numbers would remain flat making the % of people that die from covid go down.

He did not say anything that is groundbreaking or controversial.

You do realize far more people have been tested for Covid than are ever tested for the flu and it’s not even close? You also realize there are mild cases of the seasonal flu that are never tested that aren’t tabulated into seasonal flu estimates? Even with asymptomatic estimates, Covid is 3-4 times more deadly than the flu. You are correct it isn’t debatable

Well, yeah. Because you don't get tested for the flu.

Got a link saying covid is more deadly? I'll see if I cna find links, too. Ia m willing to talk if you will provide links and stay civil.

Now....I will say covid will probably kill more people in the long run, but that is because there is no season for covid, while there is a season in which the flu is more common. but I am talking about percentage of deaths compared to numbers who get them.

I'll start looking for links.
