Crazy. Definitely no loyalty and short memories in this game now. Unless he’s just completely lost the locker room or something.

That’s going to start some dominos falling and the end of the 10 year contracts.

Franklin as far as I know is a good man

Negatory. Dude is a raging a-hole, and if he couldn't get it done in State College with their resources then it isn't happening.

$50M contract buyout?

That's chump change.

Strick will hire the next coach, so will probably be a terribly unproven and unqualified coach like Billy was

He didn’t do any worse than Paterno was doing there tbh.

JoePa had a .740 winning pct. Franklin had a .690. But Paternos best years were in the 80s early 90s.

104-45 Overall
64-36 Conference
What are the odds that the next HC will even come close to duplicating that record?
Winning at the highest level consistently is hard.

Rhule leaving would be funny because it puts Nebraska right back where they were before they hired him. Just a string of coaches since firing Solich. No stability there at all.

Franklin to Virginia Tech makes sense. He’s recruited the area well for years. He’s more of a program builder and they need to be rebuilt. There’s going to be a huge number of coaching moves this offseason. They could get a head start on the other schools by being first. Probably could steal some of those 26’ guys he recruited to Pedo State

Far more likely that they hire a Scott Frost, Lincoln Riley or Tom Herman.

It's going to be Elko

It just makes so much sense.

8&4 has been snakebit, no matter what they do, no matter how much money they spend they cant win anything. And now just when they have a real shot, someone is going to come and hire their coach mid-year.

Poor Aggies

I could definitely see that happening however given the buyout I think he also might take a year off and do media.

Bad move IMHO. Franklin is about as good a coach as they can get.

If they were all that, they would have accomplished far more since joining the BIG.... They are a mid pack team, basically BIGs Ole Miss.

People on these boards were posting that Nebraska would come in and win the Big ten immediately lol. Nothing ever takes a straight line trajectory when multiple factors are involved in something like this

I really don't agree with this. It has me wondering is there is more to the story.

They could do a lot worse. What makes them think that a new HC is all of the sudden going to have them winning national titles?

might be Penn State admins demanding that Franklin fire certain asst coaches, and he's refusing to be micromanaged

If I was Franklin, I'd got get a breather job as QB coach or WRs at Buffalo Bills or the Steelers and then parlay that into a head NFL job.

Jim Caldwell couldn't win at Wake Forest, got fired and moved into the NFL and ended up winning the Super Bowl for the Colts

You are coming off as scared. Given the recent historical A&M record vs LSU I’m not sure why you would be scared unless you have the capability of thinking forward.

Remind me again when was the last time the head football coach left Texas A&M for another job? Maybe that is some more of that forward thinking skill you possess
