UT would need a new QB to dominate the east. One that is not on the roster currently.

he quit a better program to spend more time with his family so as not to die early like his dad did. And he really wants the chit show at UT

Stoops has turned down UF twice, I don't expect him to get asked again, and if he has turned down UF, why the frick would anyone think he would accept a job with the vo12/13s

Bob Neyland, Bob Stoops, doesn't matter.

Bear used to say that what was crazy about Neyland is that he could take the players from your own team and beat you and Rockne considered him the greatest mind in football (he'd laugh when people said it was him and point out that 'no, it's Bob Neyland.') If we could resurrect him it would matter a lot. It's insane to think otherwise.

Unfortunately, minds like his aren't around in football anymore and the ones who are still somewhat bring are nearly impossible to find because they're so rare.

Chris Peterson is Catholic, so i imagine he'll end up at Notre Dame. Stoops' quitting was different than Meyer's quitting , I think.

There were rumors that seemed somewhat credible at the time that Stoops expressed interest in both the Auburn job (in 2012) and the South Carolina job (in 2015). It seemed at the time that Stoops was getting bored in Norman and wanted to coach in the SEC.

Stoops retired to spend more time with his family and not have a heart attack on the field in his early 50s like his dad.

Why would he leave Oklahoma if he weren't finished coaching?

This. Stoops is done coaching--if he weren't, he'd still be coaching the Sooners. The man is so dug in at Norman that I just couldn't see him leaving even if he missed coaching a bit more than he expected. His home there is so big that someone stole a car from his garage while he was home, asleep, and he didn't realize it for 3 days. He'll never get his money back on that place if he tries to sell it--the market for castles in Oklahoma is limited.

10RC is starting their own dream team staff to compete with O and his unbeatable staff:

Your new head coach will be...CHUCKIE! Yes, Gruden will finally say Yes to the Cess(pool) and take the reigns in KnoxVile! He will immediately place a phone call to his top candidate for OC...
Peyton Manning! Peyton will coach up those QB's on Rocky Top and teach 'em how to read defenses. Just don't ask him to demonstrate any throw over 20 yards anymore.

Chuckie still needs a DC and his top choice will be...Big Game Bob! Bob decides that one year off with the family is enough and the wife is burning through his patience and his bank account like wildfire and none of the head coaching openings interest him, so he takes a step down to his old job of DC with his former nemesis while at Florida.

Then the Volunteers wake up and realize that it was all just a big, happy, wet dream.

Makes sense to me. Why would Stoops start following a shitload of 2018 commits with like eight of them being Tennessee commits? He gonna try to flip 1/3rd of Tennessee's class to Oklahoma? That would be the biggest dick move ever that makes no sense. He is also following a bunch of Oklahoma commits but it does make sense to flip them to Tennessee. Not the other way around.

After rewatching the last play, where both Florida receivers were running free, you guys need a change at HC.

User Sandwich is a dullard. VOLS are the 11th most talented team in the country this annum per 247. Stoops + VOLS would immediately become the big swinging hawg of the east

He may not end up at Tennessee. But don't be surprised if he's coaching in the SEC within a few years. I have a feeling he's watching things in Gainesville pretty closely. If McElwain tanks and gets fired, my guess is Stoops first choice would be at UF.

We'd take him over Mac for sure. He needed a fresh start OU had become stagnant they both needed a change I think.
