Zero chance you win against USC. They had just beat the brakes off of AU in back to back seasons. The nation didn't want to see three in three years.

That means absolutely nothing. Arkansas beat Auburn in 2015 and we beat them 56-3 last year

Bama beat the brakes off AU even worse in back to back years in 11 and 12 and we beat y'all in 13..... previous years mean shite, but you know that

They wouldnt have. That Auburn team wasnt losing to anyone. Number 1 defense in the country with a fricking stacked offense. Haters gonna hate

Go back and break down the rosters and it's not just OU, but that year we had more and better talent than USC as well. Good chance we win that game.

Using NFL success as a barometer has its flaws, but USC had a roster full of disappointments. Auburn had several unheralded players go on to have nice careers. Jason Campbell had a much longer and better career than Matt Leinart for example.

Undefeated in 1993 also.

Robbed in 1983.

In probation stained 1993 you couldn't play in the SECCG or even on TV.

In 1983 Texas beat AU like a drum in what was the biggest game ever played in Auburn up to that time. Texas was more deserving than Auburn.

The team capped a stellar 11–1 season, with a 9-7 victory over Michigan in the Sugar Bowl. Despite entering the bowl games ranked third in both major polls, and with both teams ranked higher losing their bowl games, the Tigers ended ranked third in the final AP and the UPI Coaches' poll as Miami jumped from 5th from the AP and 4th from the UPI Coaches' poll to claim the AP/UPI Coaches' National Championship award.[2] Auburn had played the toughest schedule in the nation, including nine bowl teams, eight of which were ranked in the top 20 (four in the top ten), and two teams Auburn faced would compete against each other in the 1983 Florida Citrus Bowl (Tennessee won the game against Maryland 30-23). Also, Auburn beat Florida by a touchdown 28-21, the same Florida team that defeated Miami in the beginning of the season by a 28-3 score. The Tigers did finish ranked first in a few polls including the computer rankings utilized by The New York Times.[2]

There has never been a team more robbed of a national title than Auburn in 1983. I won't rehash the stats that prove it. Zero chance with Auburn's record that a blue blood isn't voted champion in 1983 with Auburn's record, schedule and the opponents having the same record. Your comment was rendered ignorant by stating Texas was more deserving despite loosing to uga in the bowl game when Auburn had beaten uga a few weeks earlier. I know we have a different system today but zero chance in 2017 Auburn isn't voted champion under the same system as 1983 with the same results because Auburn has a slightly higher profile today than in 1983.

Auburn beats USC in 2004 because they were by far the best team in the country that season. More talent. Tougher schedule. Better at every key position but linebacker and that was a push.

Go for it. It was kind of BS you had to play Bama again.... But y'all did actually play in the title game and get whooped. Auburn didn't get the chance, but we took care of business every single time.

If LSU / Bama went 1-1 that year I still don't see how one can be considered champion over the other.

A 3rd game was needed IMO.

So you are saying Bama was robbed in 1977?

Not a generally accepted one, but yes, there is a trophy of sorts from that season. Also, they took a hayride through town to celebrate. That gives it more legitimacy.
