Not so fast my friend!

Tulane has a running game and talent at DL and LB. OU wins 41-23, but Tulane gets the cover.

I have money on Louisiana JR to cover, it wouldn’t surprise me if they outright win but I’m not confident enough to put money in it.

Granted Arkansas is in the midst of a rebuild but I would not care to draw that ULL team right off the bat even if we were further along.

To their credit the Sun Belt has poured the minute finances into getting good at football. And... they've pulled it off. They usually have 2 or 3 dangerous teams each year lately that are more than capable of going into someone's stadium and beating them.

Yes, a well run good program should wear them out down the stretch because of depth, but if you let some of these schools hang around a bit too long you get some results that hasten a coach getting shown the door.

I think Texas wins, but unless they jump on the Cajuns at the start this could be a nail biter.

ULL isn’t just a good mid major this year, they’re an extremely competitive team, period. If LSU was playing ULL in week one, I would honestly be picking ULL to win, and I think LSU has a much better team than Texas.

Trust me, beating Florida with half of the offense gone last year might make you feel good but I'm pretty sure Louisiana Lafayette would have beaten that team.

What were y’all missing on defense that night?

You best worry about Miami. I hear that million dollar quarterback has some issues.

If even one of those Louisiana schools wins the melt here is gonna be epic. I'm hoping it's Texas just for the entertainment factor.

ULL would beat the following SEC teams

Missouri
South Carolina
Tenessee
Vandy
Arkansas
Miss State
Ole Miss
and Aggy

Hell, we're probably going to have trouble with them.

What did big bad Texas do to the Big 8, considering they weren’t even a member?

Kentucky vs. UL Monroe
Arkansas vs. Rice
Mississippi State vs. Louisiana Tech
Missouri vs. Central Michigan
Auburn vs. Akron
Florida vs. Florida Atlantic
Texas A&M vs. Kent State
Vanderbilt vs. East Tennessee State

That's a tricky opening game for Texas.
U-La La is not as crappy as they usually are.
