Will have to agree with you on that...I have confidence that both our teams will get some licks in, year in and year out.

A&M never won much in the Big 12.....now, they seem to have forgotten that fact.

Once we get to the SEC, we can schedule Mercer in September and New Mexico State during championship Novemeber!lol.
re: Missouri since coming to SEC is ranked 6th overall in winning percentage in sec play.

Who knows. Probably a notch above Missouri.
I really am having a hard time relating to this thread. Missouri never won the Big 12 conference and only won the Big 8 way back in 1969, TexAggies only won once in the Big 12 and Uterus only won 3 to OU's 11 in the Big 12. Missouri and Texags haven't won much in the SEC either, but seem to think they have. On top of all that, I don't think Arkansas has won the SEC. As an OU fan, I fully understand that future success on the field may be more difficult. We have been successful, but time will tell how well we do in the SEC. In my view, for us to be successful, we need to respect all the opposition....it is just kind of hard to do that listening to tripe from fans whose teams have, for the most part, been on the outside of the conference championship circles looking in for years and years. However, one thing I have learned on this board is that OU's overall winning record against SEC opponents is mostly due to us being able to schedule opponents who "don't want to be there" or the game itself is not "relevant or meaningful". Maybe as a conference member, we will run into opposition that uses no such qualifiers?

The hell? Assuming that's not a metaphor, that. That's 100% the first thing we're not going to like. Are there people in this conference who do like that?
No, that is not a metaphor. The few times I have been to BR and NO to play the Tigers, their fans were definitely nasty with cups of piss and spit. Really class acts! But, I must say, they were loud and energetic, but class???? Not so much.

It's going to be the calls when they play Alabama
I am going to offer that OU is used to that....with four Texas teams in our conference and most of the officiating crews from Texas. Maybe it is worse in the SEC???? We will see.

It is amazing to me why Texas fans want to act as if they are bringing higher quality play to the SEC....their recent conference performance does not justify the arrogance. Over the life of the Big 12, they have won exactly 3 championships compared to 14 for Oklahoma. That performance in a conference where the conference champions only won 10 of their last 25 bowl games.
re: If TX and OU come on board there is a new big Six in the SEC

Sooner fan here. First, let me say that I have had nothing but good experiences with SEC fans in the games I have been to where the Sooners were matched with SEC teams. Especially Alabama fans...class act for the most part. Now, as far as OU being in the "top 6", let us prove it on the field first. As for the Whorns, they have really not been much of a factor on the field in the Big 12 for quite a while....but, they think they are. No way they should be part of your "Top 6".
Thanks for what I think will be an invite.
